Re: Craft beer thread

Hudsonhiker
This weeks Time magazine has an article about beer tours. Runners, bikers, rafters tour from brewery to brewery to sample beers. Sounds like I could do that. Today was nasty hot enough to drink a whole brewery. Happy Fourth All.

DrSkimeister

One of several "new to me" that I had the last couple of days. A surprisingly light tasting, punch packing (10 ABV) brew.

I've been a huge fan of their 90 Minute IPA for a few years now. Also had picked up a 4 pack of an IPA OF theirs called "Sixty-One" that's infused with Syrah grape that my wife and a friend's wife enjoyed.
It's funny how fallin' feels like flyin', even for a little while

I picked up some of these at the North Pole campground.  Jim has a great beer selection there.

Really good beer!

Has anyone had the Heady Topper that they are rationing over in VT?  It comes into a beer store and they limit it to one 4 pack per customer and its gone in less than a day.

I went to 4 stores looking for it and no dice.

I'm sorry but Heady Topper is just disgusting.  I do not understand this competition to see who can cram the most hops into a beer.  It's gross and I think in a few years everybody's gonna be scratchin' their heads wondering what the hell they were thinking.  Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't get it.

Re: Craft beer thread

K man
I haven't been on this blog since the snow melted.  Nice blog, but I'm the ultimate beer snob...if it's not an IPA I generally will pass on it.  Flower Power from Ithaca Beer Co., and Hop Manna from Shmatlz (now brewed in Clifton Park, NY) are two of my favorite NYS beers.  Lawsons Double Sunshine IPA is my all time favorite, but only available in VT.
Just went to the VT Microbrew fest two weeks ago.  Sailed from Wilsboro to Burlington, attended the brew fest on the water front, slept on the boat and sailed back the next day.  Flying Goose IPA from Londonderry, NH was a great one, but only available at their brew pub.

Yes, you are wrong.  It is the single best IPA out there.

Yes, of course.  Otherwise, how could I possibly comment about it??

Like I said, it is the best IPA I've ever had...and I'm a bit of an IPA head.

The above is incorrect.  I apologize for the mis-information.

I didn't  think Headytopper was sold outside of VT.  I've got some in the fridge right now.

Yes, you are wrong.

Check back with me in 5 or 10 years and we'll see if I was wrong.  Leisure suits used to be popular too.

Over hopped beers taste like socks.

These beers are not a fashion trend.
They are an acquired taste.
Definitely one of my favorite adventures.
IMO nothing tastes better than a Good IIPA after pretty much anything.
