These beers are not a fashion trend.
They are an acquired taste.

I was back in Vt yesterday to pick my son up after his week at the Stowe Dryland ski camp which was a great camp.

Got to try Heady Topper.  It deserves the 100 rating.  Hoppy but well balanced.  Not a tooth melter and super well made.  Unfortunately even the brewery themselves were sold out.  You would think that they would distribute less and make sure they had some at the brewery at all times.  Kind of a weird way to run a business but it is VT after all.

Concerning all those corn beer drinker that just don't get hops this trend is not going away.  Keep drinking your sickly sweet corn beers and leave the good stuff for the rest of us.

For an accessible beer I'm a big fan of Smuttynose IPA.

If I can have whatever my heart desires I'll take a Heady Topper though.

I couldn't score the heady topper but I did find this new tasty Rye IPA from Harpoon

A spicy note from the rye and nice but not overwhelming hops make this a winner

I always have to go with Imperial stout from Craft beer kings. This summer is all about barbecue and grills by the pool for me. And of course they have to go with something refreshing like the Imperial stout.

Nothing says summer like an imperial stout.

I'm a seasonal beer guy.  I drink Wit in the summer and stouts in the winter.  IPA all year.

gorgonzola
can't belive all the pumpkins and octoberfests are already out!
sammy oktberfest tinnies sure did taste good  on the cool nights around the fire camping this weekend though...

definately like to change beers with season... summer pils - troegs sunshine, sly fox pikeland and victory are the go to's along with a variety of coach's crappy corn brews. not much of a wheat guy but will snag one of wifeys shandys once and awhile and even enjoy a bud light lime on hot beach days!

i always think of stouts as a spring or breakfast treat!

A buddy and I hit the Killington Brew Fest today.  The best brewery in both of our opinions (plus they had the longest lines) was one that I had not even heard of before - Rising Tide Brewery from Portland Maine.  What for these guys their IPA, Black IPA and Imperial IPA were off the charts.  That is why I go to these things to find new stuff to drink.
