Let's see - Sno has gotten advice to do drugs, drink, party and now chase sex with girls it's not worth wasting your time with. WD has the best advice, keep your nose clean, hit the books and if your lucky - find a nice women when your done. Don't derail your life early and find someone who will be with you a lifetime, choose wisely. Divorce can be one of the most financially damaging events in life.

 It seems like a lot of kids do not actually believe this, but I sure do! I have never done any drugs (other than smoking) I have never been drunk, and I am currently a virgin. I do not feel like I am missing out on anything. Albeit I sure hope I am not a virgin for the rest of my life.  If you like engineering, and skiing, you do not need that other shit to have some fun in your life. Just have fun doing what you enjoy, and don't do stupid stuff just to get accepted by your peers.

Just to be clear I never did drugs, had sex, or got good grades to be accepted by my peers.  I did drugs most likely because my parents did drugs and my friends parents did drugs and it was easy to get them for the first time... most people I know that smoked weed the first time swiped it from a family member, even if they never saw them do it front of them, trust me, when you're a pre-teen to teen, you figure it out quick.  I knew the smell of pot and how it made people act long before I ever knew what is was called or what it looked like.

No girl ever forced me to have sex with her even though I truly wish some would have.  I was always pretty good at convincing them not to have sex with me in my round about ways although it was not my intention.

You don't need to be straight edge or up tight to kill it in college.  Best you learn how to handle booze and dope before it ever gets out of control, if that means saying no, go for it, but a puff off of weed or a beer here and there won't kill you.  Seems to me a lot of people suppressed this early on and they just went ape shit when it was readily available.  Partying all the time and drinking as a contest or peer pressure is definitely not good.  Learning how to have sex and not get a VD or a girl pregnant is pretty goddamn important too.  If you want to be old fashioned and sweep it under the rug and pretend kids, especially college kids, don't have sex, then be prepared for surprises.  Be smart, be careful and be educated about it and you won't have to drop out of school because you are a baby daddy or be stuck with something awful like herpes for the rest of your life.

You can do all of that and not get married.

Man, could you imagine being so fearful that you would actually put up with being miserable with an incompatible companion? I would much rather be alone. Fear is s hell of a drug!

Just an observation.  Making sweet love is something you do with someone you care about, and if that happens to be with a smokin' hot babe even better.  If it's just a hot babe, skanky or otherwise, that you don't actually love it's just.....fornicating (or one of the many more vulgar euphemisms)!  Better to take the time to find someone to make love to, less chances of contracting nasty diseases.  Tempting to sew oats, but risky.

I'm not suggesting that anyone should be some player type trying to carve notches on the bed post to feed their own insecure ego's, that's just sad.

I also agree that loving and caring about someone makes the experience that much better but.....just because you love and care about a girl doesn't mean that you should settle down, get married, and live happily ever after.

There are so many girls a young man can love! You can develop life long friendships that have at times also been more intimate and fun. there isn't anything wrong with that. Some of the most memorable sexual experiences for me were very casual and disease free.

I have known a few married couples that were high school or college sweet hearts that have worked out but I believe it's best to give it time and get to know yourself before getting into something serious.

Just wait, I hope you never reach that point in life. I have seen it repeat many times over. Loneliness is a miserable existence, sitting in a nursing home rotting away alone. People will do almost anything not to have to go through that alone.

If you live your life and make decisions based on your fear of getting old and being lonely you're a fool
