Since you ask, the Go Fuck Yourself was because of the condescending nature of your reply to me. Kinda a back at ya thing. Try rereading one more time and maybe you'll finally get it. I look forward to your next essay.

I dare you to say that at a social security rally. People get big balls behind a computer screen. There is public outrage everyday for prejudice against us old people. You just choose to ignore it... probably too busy watching lesbian rallies.

Pretty much sums up this thread. I posted this because I was angry, and I guess it carried through. Starting to sound now like he NFL is an even bigger joke than I originally thought. And for a while, after X pointed out that the punishment was "standard" I'd thought that I'd named this thread incorrectly. I thought maybe it should be something like "Bullshit Double Standards for Domestic Violence." But now it does look like it is all about the money.

This thing sure is starting to smell like a rotten egger

Apparently pro-athletes have to tip more than 0.03% now, too.
Where will it end? |

Rice shows up at his high school football game today and his old coach is saying he's a great guy who made one mistake.
I don't buy it. Rice's whole approach to his wife after he knocked her out is callous. He pushes her around like she's just a burden. Also not seeing that his wife really seems surprised that be punched her out.

Charlie Sheen came through for that waiter. He's gonna kick him 1k.
You never know what happen originally. It could be the waiter was rude, dismissive or what ever. |
Sure, the owner did say this: I would like to address the LeSean McCoy tipping situation and our role in it. For starters, I take total and complete responsibility for sharing this receipt. It was not our server's decision, it was mine. I am to blame. I decided to take action after some serious thought. And while I'd like to apologize to Mr McCoy, I cannot in good conscience do so. I stand by my actions one hundred percent. Mr McCoy and his three companions came into my place on Monday afternoon, and immediately the whole staff was excited. Mr McCoy is a skilled athlete and is one of our beloved Philadelphia Eagles. A true Philly legend and a sports hero. Understandably my staff was really pumped, especially on the heels of they terrific win the day before. (Go Eagles!). Mr McCoy and his friend sat inside at a booth next to my management and next to me. They were given excellent service. Impeccable service. If anything, our server was a little nervous as was our food runner, because they are big, big fans. He and his group, from the moment they sat down, were verbally abusive to our staff in the most insulting ways. The derogatory statements about women and their sheer contempt for the staff serving them wasn't the end, however. After Mr McCoy and his group left I looked over and saw their server, my friend, with his head bowed down and with a very confused look on his face. I took the receipt out of his hand and I couldn't believe that anyone could be so callous. Mr McCoy had left a .03% tip for our staff. Our staff that was beyond excited to see him walk into our burger joint and was excited to serve him. That's twenty cents on a tab of over $60. Twenty cents that our server has to split with the food runner and the bartender. Two dimes from an insulting multimillionaire. I bet Mr McCoy is usually an awesome dude. And everyone has their bad days. But I'm from Philly and have had the pleasure of meeting many of our bad ass sports heroes. Ron Jaworski I met as a kid and I love. Iverson I loved. Mike Schmidt! You name 'em. I love all of our athletes past and present. Hometown heroes who treat those below them with some respect. And maybe Mr McCoy was having a "bad day" after his big victory all that, but the reports of him receiving "bad service" is a complete slanderous lie, and my crew here is better than that and deserves better than that. At the end of the day, I did what I felt my heart told me to do. And I don't want anything from Mr McCoy, but...maybe an apology to his server who gave him excellent service would be cool. Again, I am the owner and I take full responsibility for my actions. Eagles fans, I feel ya. Id be pissed too. But a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do and stick up for his friends. Hate mail should be directed to tommy@pytburger.com. I will respond to you right after I catch up on this mornings hate mail. |

Thanks ml242 !
I not surprised. The " you never know what happened " goes both ways. In this case, it wasn't the wait staff who were rude. Kudos to the restaurant owner for putting this out there. It is brave of him to do so in this day and age. ML, still climbing tomorrow ? |
This is the first I had heard of this little incident. Not at all comparable to the elevator assault but truly indicative of what people believe they are privileged. At the end of the day characters are easy to find, character is hard to find.

Snow - I'm climbing tomorrow but only in the gym. The new ADK Rock book is absolutely beautiful though, and I hope to give it some use up your way soon.
PT, well said. I certainly didn't mean to imply that domestic abuse equals shitty tipping either in case that was misunderstood. |

Well said indeed. I like your posts, PT. Succinctly wise. |
That's quite an endorsement Peetex. you've arrived

Does that mean I will be shown the secret society sign? Although I think I already know what it is:

McCoy is a known social a-hole. However, this long winded note has some falsehoods in it. The waiter confirmed what the manager said and agreed that McCoy and his group were verbally abusive the whole time. However, the waiter also admitted that he forgot to deliver an appetizer(really not a big deal unless you are an a-hole). After the waiter apologized for the missing appetizer and was subjected to more verbal abuse the waiter admitted he did not visit the table again until it was time to deliver the bill. It sounds like the waiter was delivering an FU to McCoy and the table. The waiter could have asked his manager to handle the table and McCoy also could have asked to see the manager after the waiter went missing. If the manager was right there (as he seems to indicate in his note) when this happened maybe he could have handled the situation better than the waiter. The manager clearly took no action to try and fix the situation. His note claims he saw nothing but good service delivered in contrast to the waiter admitting a minor error and then his ignoring the table. The manager's credibility should be questioned. McCoy clearly lived up to his reputation. When you leave a zero tip you are not just screwing the waiter, but also the busboys, bartenders, and whoever else is in the tip pool. McCoy should have been the bigger man, but his history indicates that this is not possible. |

Shaneen Allen got mugged. She bought a gun legally in Pennsylvania and had a permit to carry. Apparently that permit is not valid in NJ. She was unaware of this fact.
She got pulled over in a routine traffic stop in NJ and handed the officer her drivers license and her license to carry. She told him she had her gun with her. The same NJ prosecutor who gave Ray Rice Pre-Trial Intervention (PTI aka get out of jail free card) is cutting her no slack. The single mother of two is facing 10 years in prison. WTF is that. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/Philly_mom_faces_jail_due_to_New_Jerseys_strict_gun_laws.html
