Funny Ski Area Social Media Posts

Saw this on Okemo's instagram:

"Lovely Day!  Who can name this trail?"

That's definitely a hard question at a Mountain where every run is the same.  Seriously, it could be any 120 of their trails.

In a different vein, but Mad River Glen has had some funny self-deprecating posts throughout the year.

You're missing the point of the thread. We're here to rip on areas that are beneath our elite status.

Yet you want to blast ,straighten, groom every trail everywhere to mimic that. And highspeed bubblelize every chair to mimic them.

High speed bubble lifts are good, I mean who doesn't love a quick comfortable ride without removing skis.  Snowmaking and grooming=good conditions on the ec, so that's a good thing as well.  Widening sometimes improves trail flow and is good in that case.  (Hunter widened Wayout where it merges with Clair's Way which makes the merge easier safer and the run more enjoyable).  Homogenized trails that all look and ski exactly the same for no particular reason are not.  If I chose to ski a trail, I usually have a pretty good idea what trail I'm actually on, and whether I've skied it earlier or not.  I could not keep track of that at Okemo.  I thought multiple times that I was on one trail when I was actually on another.

Someday you will appreciate the long slow ride of a double.

I'm more of climber, but I'm kind of with Sno on this one.  One 0 F day ride with the wind whistlin' up your crack on one of those things and I'm not looking forward to going back up.

I actually don't even know what those bubble lift things are...

I love the skiing them too for the same reason.  But I don't love the slow lifts!  Last time I skied at Gore it was like that.  I took the Gondi all day.  Even that was chilly.  No line though... why not?

You're probably right!  This was a few years ago.  It was fast then.

I'll go back to Gore when they get a bubble and blow snow in the glades
