Gore Conditions (2013-2014)

Good snow on the Dark Side Rumor Lies and Top ridge Uncas.  Skied solo til 130 was about to quit. Ran into duck and skied til close.  The Dark Side was rippable. Sweet.

Happy to hear that. I've lost a lot of snow here at my cabin in the last week. Seems like the mountain is holding up.

More very good skiing today. Seemed that yesterdays wind did kill some snow but still there is tons.

Met duck for first runs on Showcase, wow.  Such smooth cord...



Dark Side was rippable.  I've never seen Hullabaloo where you could crank a turn right on the headwall.  Many Dark Side Laps.

Cover is still surprising on the trails and in the woods. But if you go in the trees stay on the well beaten path to avoid punkiness.

Lower Steilhang headwall was totally skiable.




Topridge

Going to be colder tonight and there will be grooming tonight.

Points to Gore for the approach to spring.

Man today was off the charts. Huge group of rippers going after it.



The snow is incredibly soft and the trails are brown in spots.

Still some great skiing to be done.



Having connectivity issues.  Just been skiing eating and sleeping.

Can't believe I didn't run into ya all day. Absolutely fantastic indeed.

Let's call it slushfest Sunday. It was warm,really warm. The temp said 72 when I got back to the car.

lost alot of snow mon tues.not  wed ,was pretty cold, looked glacial in spots . not any real accumulation tues nite . wind blew it away anyway. approaching WROD level. some of the groomed stuff did get sugary.

The headwall area looked like a lot of rock showing yesterday, but from the goat path down it looked fine. If it warms up, we should be good to go.

Rumor opened today at about 12:30 from the goat path.

another great finish for the gore ski season. upper mountain skied well but why was lower steilhang closed? it skied great. when i was much younger, the ski slopes were filled with 15-30 year olds. the base was a party scene. now the end of ski season resembles a nursing home. what gives?

Today was really fun. Lies was GREAT.

 No partying today, enough of that was done last night at the Civic Center
