I was told the Big O was knee deep first thing in the AM.

Now it's on the intrawebZ so you know it's true.

Re: Greek Peak Conditions

I was up there for a couple hours on Saturday, it was the most fun I've had there in a couple years (last year makes that an easy claim to make).  Plenty of fresh snow and lack of grooming made for a great afternoon.  Fields was pretty much mildly bumped up full width, with some nice skiing on skier's right, even Stoic was bumping up nicely.  Odyssey was fun.  Olympian was still holding up well by 230 when I ventured over, it'd been skied a bit, but was still a blast.  Glades were open and plenty of good snow in there still mid-afternoon.  Castor & Karyatis had nice easy skiing, looks like it may have been groomed a day or two before, but still fresh on top, with some spots on the right of Castor with 5-10" deep stuff.  Alcemene coverage was thin, except for a strip on the left, and the bottom half had plenty of small rocks scattered on it, so that was not worth hitting a second time.

Come Sunday morning, the view was much more depressing.

That reminds me, did anyone else head over to Trax on Saturday evening?  I went over around 630, it was pretty empty (maybe like 4 tables occupied and 2 or 3 people at the bar), they had advertised a holiday party with specials, but it seemed like nothing was going on.  There were private parties in the other rooms, but I found no holiday party.

Got out yesterday for some laps. Hooked up with Pro and the other Pro first thing

Then met Speedy later in the morning for a few runs. Was good to have part of the crew together on a Tuesday morning.

Fields was truly the only game in town for the day. That's the bad  news. The good news was whomever groomed it put down a perfect carpet. I truly hope that continues for the year no matter what trail your on. It was dreamy

New boards are totally killer --- I highly recommend the new Rossi E88's for an everyday ski to anyone. Those things are bangin'

Felt good to get out for the first time this year. Illiad, chair 4, and the Trojan come online starting Saturday. Then I hope they move to chair 5 area.

I hope Mark and John make millions, and millions so they can invest in a snowmaking upgrade. We've had such a good run of cold temps that it would be nice to have more open heading into one of the busiest weekends/weeks of the year. Brin it on Ma-Natch!!

I wonder when they're going to have a demo day this year, I'll probably have to wait a couple months to see one...those 88's have been on my short list, along with the Brahmas and Vantage 90 CTI.  Last Saturday I was skiing Magnum 8.1 Ti's and they left a bit to be desired in the deeper stuff & glades.

I was completely loving the lack of grooming on Fields/Stoic last weekend, but my wife did not agree.

I've been up 3 times so far every time makes me giddy at the prospect of this year looking nothing like last season!

Yeah, last weekend there was no need for grooming on Saturday, it was a POW day!!

I'm with ya, last year was horrific, there's no way it could EVER be that way again. You can tell by the look on EVERYONE'S face there that we're all psyched for some snow!

I figure the one or two trails they have open are far better than sitting at work, so I'll be headed up around 1.  Should be decent weather.

I'm not surprised. We lost a lot of snow last night.

Greek Peak wasn't too bad today, considering. Edgeable snow in most places, though it was getting scraped down to boilerplate in the really busy areas. Surprising turnout today, too. There was a lift line at a couple of points. Seemed like a lot of race training and lessons going on.

OK, here's the deal. We got a light coating of freezing rain then an inch of snow on top of that. They're calling for us to get 4-6 by tomorrow afternoon. Combine that with snowmaking cranking back up and we should recover nicely. That said, with our limited snowmaking abilities I don't think we'll see much new terrain open up due to the connector trails needing some serious attention. We need Ma_Natch to bring it!

I'm not completely sure what message they're trying to send with that clip ^^^^

It almost feels as if they've left something out?

I agree, camp. The article goes off into a number of different tangents. However, the end product really sends a message that lift tickets are expensive. Kaitlyn never should have mentioned that skiing is costly. I'm not sure what she was thinking with that comment. regardless of what direction she intended the conversation to go.

That's what I meant by left something out. We don't know what she was asked, nor did we get her entire answer to that question. I've known K and her parents long enough to know that what she said was simply a statement. TW spun it to whatever their agenda was/is.
