Do you know where they were making snow? It was hard to tell from the FB pics.  We got three inches outside of slaterville before I left for work. I was hoping it would stick around until tomorrow so I could sneak in a couple of (plastic) sled runs tomorrow, but the snow is pretty much gone. Probably a good thing as i tend to end up at the chiropractor after sledding. Still....

I believe they are making snow on the Fields, Stoic, Alpha, and Karyatis.

Very noticeable difference in sound this year when the guns are running. They've definitely  picked up some fire power.

I'm not sure as I got it in an email from a buddy.

He said it was on FB. Search for "Ski Cortland" on FB. He said that's where he got it from.

The pilot said he can't get all of Greek Peak ski area in one single photo from his plane. Here is his pic of Greek Peak East, where the Triple Chair is - Arcadian Gate (the longest trail), Mars Hill (the east trail with snowmaking) and Arethusa way.

I'll try and get a good picture next time I go flying. I rent out of Cortland and fly by Greek quite a bit. With winter and ski season I don't go flying as often though so may be a little while before I get the photo.

A most excellent opening day.    in the past, I have stayed on the bunny slope on the first day to get my legs back in shape. It was nice to have Karyatis open as well. I am looking forward to going back on Sunday.

Agreed! Better conditions than what I’ve skied on previous opening days.  There were very few people out first thing which made for lots of room on the narrower trails.  I liked having the two trail options ,fields/stoic and karyatis/platonic, off of the quad rather than doing just the WROD on Iliad.

That's what I was thinking as well, it's been awhile. Hopefully they advertised the crap out of it too.

I do recall some instances back in the 80's when they were opened during Thanksgiving, but nothing recently. In fact, there was one year when they got hit early with a storm, and East was even open. Unfortunately, it seems as though those days are long gone with the erratic weather as of late.
