I guess they are serious about opening for Thanksgiving. That will make quite a few folks very pleased.

Looking at the extended forecast I think they'll make it. It will be interesting to see how much their snowmaking improvements help them out this year.

Here’s a few pictures from opening day today.  Best first day conditions I can remember.

Snowmaking clouds were drifting all the way down the Virgil valley on the way in.

Lots of snowmaking going on.

Made 5th chair this morning.  Mountain looks like mid winter conditions, not late November.

Castor was open via Epicurus with all natural snow coverage.  There was lots of powder on skiers right on Elysian Fields.  I didn’t get a chance to venture into any of the trees, but it certainly could have been possible.

Those ancient wooden tables and chairs are gone from the Taverna and replaced with plastic chairs/tables.

Keep your fingers crossed that this rain doesn't mess things up for GP. Conditions were really nice today!!

Meanwhile, I am as feeling a bit stiff. :)

Things have softened up nicely since Friday.  They’ve lost some cover from yesterday’s rain, but not bad.

The trees are skiable, but it takes a little work to get across to them with the wet sticky snow.

Greek is reopening Sat the 1st. With the forecast hopefully they reconsider and open Friday instead, it's like mid Feb around here. They would make a lot of people happy if they did.

How much snow did you receive from the storm? I believe they were calling from 5-10 inches?????
