It does look like a nice trail...hence my original question. I'm psyched to catch that view coming from Platty and the west.

 Nice!. I like your neck of the woods and usually get a few days in at Hunter every year.  

Saw on another site that they’re adding some glades to the expansion.

The info from the Hunter website has a cute 22-sec video introducing the "sawyers."

Hunter needs trails not glades...Hunter just doesn't get enough snow..

I saw that article. Glades why not?  They just added four trails and the new glades will be in between, and on the North Side.  I'm sure they will come in handy at some point.

Glades are fun for some..but to alleviate trail congestion you need trails.. that said , 2 thumbs up for doing their best in improving the mountain..

I wonder how they weigh the maintenance and clearing costs for glades in that area when looking at how often during average seasons they will actually get use?

Maybe just having them on your trail map helps a lot for marketing but if you have a crappy few winters in a row and they get opened for two weeks each season I think it would be hard to justify continuing maintaining them.

If it does snow then SWEET!

the "faithful" love any forward momentum..  It's going to be awesome..

was up there a few weeks ago, biking Elm Ridge, took a peek from far away the trails look all cut and they are starting on the lift foundations, if they can pull it off by the winter it will change the whole mountain, My grandkids age 6-11 ski on the weekends and sometimes Belt Parkway is more dangerous with crowds of beginner/intermediates than the steeper trails, this will spread things out for everybody, and if it does that things may not get skied off by 1 pm,  kudos to Peaks

I think that lift line should be super cool to ski.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the new lift terminate at Belt and Wayout?  If that's the case, that intersection is going to look like the beach at normandy...

They made room for it somehow..  I haven't been up there.
I'm expecting all the best - it's kind of how I live my life now..

Lots of dynamite used to create space for the upper terminal as you can see in this photo. I haven't been this excited to ski Hunter in years.

Ok , that makes more sense..This expansion , should make the front side much more manageable. I am looking forward to this year too..

Not that it’s going to make me into a Hunter dude but I’m pretty curious to see how this turns out myself.
