Hunter Expansion is a Go!!!

New high speed 6 pack and about a 25% increase in acreage and the latest in snowmaking technology covering it all!!  Construction to begin later this month and it'll be done by next season.  Two high speed 6 packs installed in the Catskills in the same year!!  

Blasting to begin immediately.

It better be 100% open by Christmas 2018. No Excuses.

For the first season I don't think it really matters.  It's an aggressive timeline they're building it on and no one will care in the long run whether it opens December 25th 2018 or January 25th 2019.  In the future, I'm sure they'll do whatever it takes to open it by Christmas will provide access from an additional parking lot and will help spread out crowds a lot.  They already open the West Side by Christmas every year.

We'll see what they come up with when they finish.  I agree it looks a bit steep for blue pitch but there will likely be switchbacks in certain areas.

I like it!

Lots of progress and updates so far.  All tree clearing appears to be done, and blasting is underway.  They already have received some of the snowmaking pipe (pay attention ORDA) and I assume they'll start on that as soon as the trail clearing is finished.  They need to blast, clear out debris, and grade everything out.  Leitner-Poma will also likely start on the lift around the same time.

They are still moving rocks...   I hear it all day long..   Blasting is done.. Which is good..  :)

It certainly looks wide enough.

Looking at this photo it almost seems like the whole ski area should have been on this side of the mountain.

Being official or unofficial never stopped me from riding a lift line with good snow...
