Sorry it didn't get soft, but that can turn around quickly.

More important - how was the cover? 6" is enough to bring most or all of the mountain back in play? That's pretty awesome.

Fantastic shape, especially in the woods which truly are bottomless. They've had 4 feet of snow in two weeks and it shows.  Never been prouder to ski the east than today given that we have the best conditions in the country right now.  The cut runs are pretty moguled up and scraped down in places but MRG is really about the off-piste stuff and areas like Paradise and Octopus' Garden are out of control. I forgot how extreme the in-bounds skiing can get here. This place is so special.

Was there on Sunday, I wouldn't call it bottomless. I think given how bad conditions were Christmas through mid-January and just how good conditions currently are, perhaps a bit ahead of schedule for a typical season, there is a lot of exaggeration happening. Its cool, lots of us are having great runs and there is no end in sight to the great conditions. But conditions are currently short of epic, even off the map. Still lots of scrapes and occasional thin coverage in places, especially the really steep, narrow, and spicy stuff. GREAT conditions but not bottomless. Though stunning if you can find someplace with total accumulation untracked... I found a few of those shots Sunday. Another storm or three and I'll jump on the epic and bottomless bandwagon.

Looking at a day trip to Mad River on Tuesday.  Anyone here a regular that knows the place?  Maybe meet up and do some runs and show us some stashes.

A fresh 5 inches blown around a bit on a firm but edge able base.  Not ice or hard like Gore yesterday.  A good day to get my boarder buddy here on skis who has been skiing only this year.

Just found what I believe was Octopus Garden.  Entered off Paradise where the cliff markers are.  Saw some tracks and followed them in.  Pretty much completely untracked and much deeper snow once we got in there.  Not much for ice in there unless it was a waterfall.  All nice packed powder up top.

I'd do a trip report but, you don't deserve it.  But, here is some ski porn for you rub one out to.

It's not that.  Have you read my previous trip reports?  Too many assholes starting arguments over stuff I didn't say.  All butt hurt they are in their cubicle all week and can only ski weekends when it's busy and tracked out.

That drone video and another I saw on youtube had me thinking I should go to MRG for the first time tomorrow, but......probably Gore.  Some other time.  Place looks epic, but I don't know if I have enough "can"! ;)

I must have misread a bunch of posts, because you're the only one that appears to be "all butt hurt"

Does this look like the video of a butt hurt individual?

Maybe you should change your name to skiless.

I'd have to say yes since you duct taped your iPhone to your forehead or something

Glad it wasn't on your head, because I was thinking.....he really needs to keep his head up, especially while skiing in the trees!
