NY Ski Area Closing Dates (2015)

Buffalo ski club is done.  I'm guessing 3/29 was it.
Cockaigne did not open.
Hunt Hollow will be closing on 4/4.
Kissing Bridge is done.  3/29 was it.
McCauley is open today, but has not announced if 4/5 is it.
Royal Mountain is open 4/3-4/4 and then will reopen for 4/11-4/12.  I am thinking 4/12 will be it.
West Mountain is closing 4/12.
Willard is closing 4/4.

McCauley Mountain closes Sunday, April 5th.

West is reopening next weekend for a bash and turns.

McCauley Mountain in Old Forge will be open this Sunday.  I just got this email from them yesterday.  I skied there last Sunday and conditions were still quite good although the rain this week won't help.

Belle announces closing this Sunday.

So, after this weekend, only Whiteface and Gore remain.

For NY . k wildcat and Canada still have places open. And north Vermont and Maine.

Greek Peak's Ski Season will be ending Sunday April 12th.
Greek Peak's lifts will be open today, Saturday 4/11: 7:30am - 5:00pm (First Hour for First Tracks Only) & Sunday 4/12 8:30am - 5:00pm

West Mountain pulled the plug early, on 4/5. Last minute. Via Facebook. The following M & T would have been great Spring Days there.

First day back at my computer after 4 glorious Spring skiing days in the East. It doesn't get any better than that. Here is this week's rundown on who and where will lifts spin in the East.

Melting…snow and list are melting : Eastern Closing Thread 2014-15 – Part 2

For those curious, I skied Gore, Bolton, Mad River Glen and Smugglers' Notch in the last 4 days. I need to get serious with the Foxcard before it is too late. Vouchers left that I can still use are Whiteface, Cannon and Jay. Damn WF is going Sat-Sun, instead of Friday to Sunday. That is making it difficult into harder for my skiing plans.

Here is what I have for New York :

Song – April 19 (weekend only)
Royal – April 19 (weekend only)
Gore – April 19 (weekend only)
Whiteface – April 19 (weekend only)

That is 4 of the 40 potential Eastern ski areas this week. 19 of which are running daily.

Phew!!

That sure saved some ball busting

Woodstream- April 2 was the last day from base to summit. We had one trail at the bottom open through Easter sunday, April 5 wish we could have kept the whole hill open through the 5th, but we had it spread so thin that it just didn't quite make it. We will just have to make more snow piles next year. The good thing is, we were open through most of the week we were on spring break, so it was great for the local kids!

Don't despair... there are always ski options left. You just have to go a bit further sometimes.

No more options in NYS, but 13 left in the East.

Potentially 8 will be spinning this weekend in the East. Only 2 daily.

From 9 last weekend to 3, ops, 2 this weekend. Forecast tentative at MSS - tstorm and rain in the forecast for this weekend plus the heat.

MSS closed on Mothers' Day. They lost a lot of snow.

Killington is still hoping for June 1, but it hard to tell this time of the season.
