Re: Plattekill Conditions

There were a couple hours this afternoon where the corn harvest was in full season.  Every trail was still skiable.  Another 5 degrees would've extended the harvest till closing time but it started to stiffen just a bit at about 3:15.  No pics...sorry.

I hope Plattekill not only holds another glade day but adds another glade day.
This is looking more and more likely.

Ski Day 38:  The dream season continues.  I knew I was missing out on a  big weekend at Gore. But MIL's birthday party was super important event that I could not miss on Saturday.  I considered the ten hour round trip to North Creek, but opted for the shorter drive to the Cats.  Belle looked absolutely wall-to-wall when I drove by, but at this time uphill traffic is prohibited there.

Conditions were incredible at Plattekill.

When we arrived it looked like Face had T2B possibility, but we decided to focus our efforts on the double side. Plunge, Block and North Face were nearly T2B and a combo of North Face and Plunge actually was skiable without walking.

There had been so much rain that the bumps on Block were gone, but the snow was so carvable we couldn't stop smiling.

Amazing how hard it was to find anyone to ski.  ScottSki rallied, and I totally appreciated it. Sharing the experience was so much better than being alone. I'm still smiling.

Great to see Laz and his team working on lift ops/maint and strategy, getting ready for MTB season.

Very nice. If it weren't for the nine hour drive and the fact that I had to work, I would have been happy to join you.

way to get after it, you guys are legends in your own time.

Maybe I'll see what's left next week though just to keep it rolling.

Hard to believe block is done, wall to wall last week!

Platty looked absolutely stunning in full autumn glory yesterday. It was the biggest Plattepalooza crowd I can remember.  There was a line 25 deep for the bbq for about 3 hours straight!   A good mountain bike crowd was also in the house readying for today's big race.  The weather was perfect, there was a good selection of cold beers and I am officially a member of the Plattekill Mug Club!! $25 got you a mug filled with beer and a dollar off of every refill all season long!. Plus, they're going to keep the mug ready for you behind the bar for safekeeping!

Now, let's get some cold weather and let it snow, snow, snow!!
