Plattekill Conditions (2018 - 2019)

It was ok for about one hour. Now it’s getting a little firm. I’m picking my lines with an eye towards keeping my fillings in my teeth

Got in a fun half day today. Almost had the place to ourselves for the first hour or so when conditions were better. Not much open still but the Plattekill crowd is making the best of it.

Nice cropping, Harv, but could you sharpen the focus a bit next time?

Going to Platty for the first time on Sunday.  Hope it lives up to the reputation it has around here!

Terrain is still limited, but I think the skiing could be good.

I was thinking it might be less crowded than Huntah or Windham so that would offset the fewer trails.  Could go to Catamount, looks like they have been blowing aggresively.

No doubt it will be uncrowded. Going to be cold too.

Who knows exactly where Plattekill is on this map? I do.

With this much wind there is going to be a pile on skiers right of pretty much everything?  I'm thinking they've had 8-10 inches in the last 48 at least.

There are no bad days at Plattekill.

I know where Platty is on there and I like what I see, though Catamount’s area looks pretty good too.

+1.  Even if the trail count or conditions aren’t ideal, the vibe is unmistakeable.  You’ll have fun.  If they’ve been getting snow, all the more.  It won’t be crowded.  You can’t appreciate how uncrowded until you’ve been.

I’d rather ski a handful of trails at Platty than the whole of Catamount.

The more I'm thinking about it the more I think Sunday could be prime Saturday is going to be so cold that I would be surprised if many are shralpin the natural trails
