Reports from The Land Of NAZ, 18/19

Had an old riding buddy from Jackson visit us for Thanksgiving. We got in a good Turkey Day mountain bike rip in and a fun hike-n-scramble today.

Wow, this reminds me how much I love the desert of the US southwest. Nice shots and good lemonade for the apparent lack of snow.

No snow but there usually isn’t where these photos were taken. The ski area is open with snowmaking but I haven’t been motivated to go.

We went for a ride thanksgiving morning and my shock was blown right out of the gate. It was my first ride in 3 months or so. I swear, that bike is cursed. I haven’t had a fun and problem free ride since last spring. Anyways, I’m stoked to get back at it. I need to get back into shape.

Yeah, it probably is pushing easy 5th class in a couple of places. The exposure is pretty awesome up there.

Thanks boys!

I’ve been out doing some trail building this week, gotta best the snow we are supposed to get over the weekend. I’m hoping it barely snows at 7k, building is too much fun for me right now.

On this corner there was a giant oak root mass wrapped around large rocks so we had to get the tread elevated a bit. We built a step and shortly after I pulled a giant rock out another 12 feet downhill. Once I refilled the whole it was obvious that we had to build it into a low lying step down sender.

It should be real easy to get 15 to 25 feet of float off this thing. In the pictures it’s hard to see but there’s a nice long transition in there.

We got 28 inches this weekend! Things are starting to look very optimistic now. Local meteorologist are saying good things. With only one real run opened I decided to get weird and farm this little slope 13 times.  :D

^^ I was thinking the same thing.

Whenever I do that I just go all over with no regard to making nice rows.  Even if I tried I don't think I could make them that nice though.

It might be a bit OCD?

It’s not usual thing to do but with one run open and filled with 6 million Phoenicians it felt right.
