It’s a great system and it’s currently becoming even better.

Old, thin, hard snow has kept me doing other things lately.

I went hiking on the Dry Lake Hills yesterday to this viewpoint.

Attaboy.  Was thinking of skiing today on man-made but lost my motivation.  I'm just gonna go wander in the woods for a little while.  Views won't be as nice as yours, but I still enjoy it more than sitting in the house.

Fun! We’ve got a lot of rock features here like that one but they haven’t been a focus on our legal trails. We are working to change that. The east coast has some pretty awesome terrain for mountain biking.

I just don’t have it in me any longer. The kid keeps me going when it’s like this but for the most part I’d rather be doing other stuff.

Nah - nothing like Moab or Whistler.  Or even most of Colorado, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington or BC.

Not that I've ever been those places, but Youtube shows me.  I seem to think it's pretty good here until I see how it looks on video and then compare that to videos of other areas - then it doesn't seem as, well, challenging, we'll say that.

That shit in Quebec City was about the sickest thing I've seen on the east coast.

The stuff in Pisgah /Asheville NC is pretty rad..Real long downhills etc..

UT and AZ  is real cool riding  , not necessarily better just different..

I agree. Different, not better. I’ve seen lots of vids of the north east that highlight some pretty amazing stuff imho.

Sedona has a lot of funky little steep roll in lines if ya like that sort of thing.

Today.

I really don't know how you define better.  You can build man-made stuff into almost anything that will make it very challenging.

I ride pretty much anything from easy to most difficult in this area.  I don't dislike any of it.  I'm not an elitist.  If it isn't apparent by the shit I post, I'm all about getting the most different experiences in the area I live for the least amount of investment.  I think most people miss that.

More of my thought is people aren't flying to NY to ride mountain bikes.  Lots of people are flying to those other areas to ride.  There must be something special about it.

I'm just a local rider - I really have little interest in taking a riding vacation.  Might try it if I ever go to van mode later in life.  But it won't just be for the riding - be more about the adventure along the way.

Merry Christmas!

Looks like you could have popped off that little bump.  I don't know if I would have had the stones to do it.
