It looks like Delta does the same as SWA in regards to skis.  We're taking Delta this time out west, but because I'm only skiing 1 day out of 7, I think it be easier to just rent in Flagstaff for the day, and not risk losing my gear.

Great advice, if I can ever return the favor when you hit Magic, say the word!  Humphrey's is pretty cheap for rentals, so I'll give them a whirl.  I'm also glad I'm missing Hunterish weekend crowds.  Really looking forward to skiing Arizona!

If I’m available I’ll totally give a tour but I committed to be in Page that weekend. If I get everything done there by Sunday I might be able to get back Monday AM to ski. I’ll try to make that happen.

It looks like we are getting back into a storm cycle this weekend. Who knows? You might get to see this place with an 80+ inch base!

Another rec for ya SHD, my favorite day hike in the canyon is down the Grand View trail to Horshoe Mesa and the Cave of the Domes. It’s seriously rad.

You should probably check out Sedona for a day too if possible. Do you mountain bike? If not there’s some awesome day hikes and Tortas De Fuego is a super legit Mexican joint there.

That would be cool, my wife will be skiing too but she stays on the bunny hill.  Looks like a smallish hill(trail-wise) ala Magic.

Thanks for the GC rec, I'll definitely try that hike.

We might just pass through Sedona, not enough time to spend too much time there though.

It’s a smallish hill for sure but when it’s really good the touring makes the place shine.

Bring a head lamp for that GC hike. The cave isn’t marked but it’s easy enough to find.

Yo SHD,

Today was so good, 12 inches of heavy cream after a warm and rainy night down in town. Got to sleep with the windows open and listen to the rain hit the tin roof while while visions of pow slashes danced in my head. Up to another 26 for the next four days. Things are shaping up nicely.

There are pow days and then there are POW DAYS. The latter being the sleeper midweek Instant refill sorts of days. The kind of day where every lap your tracks from the last lap have been erased as the snow hammers sideways and even though it’s freezing cold you can’t wipe that shit eating grin from your face. It’s those days where you fall into a state of grace, doing things you forgot were possible while skiing, the kind of skiing that makes you feel like some kind of super hero with beyond human capabilities. Today was that day. I haven’t skied that fast since 16/17. It was rowdy! :D

Going out tomorrow. I’ll report back tomorrow night. I had to work the last two days, it was torturous. I need to get our trail crew thing running and take the winters off from now on.
