BECAUSE YOU CAN'T READ A COMPASS So why the hell were you trying to argue how awesome southerly exposure is? There isn't an open resort in the northeast that faces due south. THERE ARE NO SOUTH FACING SKI AREAS
DO YOUR PARENTS REFUSE TO DRIVE YOU TO THE HILL WHEN IT SNOWS? If by truth you mean idiocies that change every few posts, then yeah. Except the part about Jay because you don't know what you're talking about. |

Well, FWIW the weight of all the water now impounded by the Three Gorges Dam caused the earth's axis to actually shift according to Jeopardy! PA is certainly prolific. |

Actually, dipshit, it gets more. Much more. Anyone who's been skiing for more than about 15 minutes knows that Telluride isn't known for its snow. Why is it so hard for you to understand that not every ski area out west gets more snow than every ski area in the east? Moar PowderAss! |

This is 100% incorrect. Bromley faces due south and they market it. That is why they call themselves "Vermont's Sun Mountain".

It has got to cut into the number of ski days they are open. But, if you cant ride trees, stand the wind and all that then have at bromley. Are you sure you arent powderassassin? If not maybe you can car pool to bromley with him. He has some really good tips for safety and is an all around book of knowledge when it comes to all things ski related.

Yes, one area of the ~500 left in the northeast. What does 499/500 round to again? Besides, I'm going to be so pissed when I go to Snow Ridge and I'm not skiing pow in the golden hours of late afternoon sun for $18 looking for the guy on Hellbents that can't ski or read a compass. |

What is most funny is even on their own site Bromley claims 145" annual snow and Mount Snow claims 156". So idk where Powderassassin comes up with 200" at Mt Snow. If you are all about powder I would think 145" facing south wouldn't be the place to be. Even if Jay is inflated, 350" is more than double that.

Stratton's annual is 180", and if you've ever skied in sunny southern VT you know that's the biggest hill around.

Hey MC2,,, Did you see this ? No worries on our lakes, eh ? They're not the ocean ! Hehehe. |
The lake was flat. That could happen on a river if you hit someone's wake going 60 |

Wow that's amazing. Maybe there's a potential solution to global warming there. Some massive dam to make the earth's more axis more vertical, or less vertical, or whatever (actually I have no clue, I'm really just talking out my ass here. But isn't that what this thread is all about?). |

On this boat fail thing. So that dude was ripping along an crossed someones wake an didn't slow down? I don't know squat about boats but that doesn't seem too bright.
This is where I could use a moderhater. Someone who really can handle the mental gymnastics of splitting out threads.

This never gets old. Actually I tracked down the original video once that shows the whole ride and its aftermath. Driver was a complete idiot and the passengers, some of whom did not know the driver, got really lucky. Petronio |

Yep. They're lucky the boat powered down. If small kids had been on board.....

Here is the full video. I note it has nothing to do with any ski area, much less the top 20 in the East.

Yes it does, Bromley and the rest of the Southern Vermont Mountains are all early closers. I think that Bromley closes like the first Sunday in April followed by Stratton, Mount Snow, and Okemo the week after. This is mostly because spring has lots of bumps, but Southern Vermont skiers usually want grooming, the clientele at these places would just be pissed off and not go anyway, so why stay open?
