Last year I bought an Elantra so I would have a third car for my son to drive around and we sort of rediscovered the joy of a high mileage low payment vehicle. I still have a Pilot which does a pretty good imitation of a pickup when required so when it’s time to replace that I’ll revisit the issue.

I know that feeling as well. At another STI training we were on a rally course. Took turns driving as well as being the navigator. When I was the navigator we went off course , it aint' easy.

Harv, IMO rallying is way more exciting to watch than Formula 1 these days.  You're watching one of the masters at work here on wicked narrow roads.  In a "don't off up" spot, Vatanen gets sideways and the co-pilot fears for his life.  Watch u til 1:38. Trust me, even though I used to be a salesman.

You guys obviously don't drive stick shifts anymore.  Not sideways just a little correction after some over-steer at 80 MPH on a mountain road.

Damn, had I known you were shopping I could have sold you my '09 hatchback Impreza. Bit of a rat rod, and it has a sweet rumblin' sound, but it will get you where you are going. Only 302,000 km or so (about 190,000 miles). Newer engine and only a bit of mouse poo.

Nice!

As SBR has noted, those things are bullet proof. Good for you.

Yeah, the Impreza refuses to die. Unfortunately, the 2005 Outback we bought last year with very low mileage is turning into a lemon, with primarily electrical issues. Looks great, though.

You should leave out the conversion. It sounds more impressive in Canadian

Does that mean I don't need to convert temperature for you luddites anymore?

Beautiful summer morning here in the Hinterlands, a very pleasant 19 degrees.

Thanks, Warp. we miss you too. I miss going to Vermont, Blue Toes misses her mother in PA, it is a tough time.

And Brownski, use the Google converter. 19 C is like 66 F. Very cool, man.

Automatic?  I'll drive automatic when they pry my cold, dead foot off the clutch.

I had sticks all my life until my car of choice, the Honda CRV, no longer came with one. I've had 4 of them.

Truthfully with the Sunday night traffic I fight during ski season, and the superior mileage of the new autos, it makes sense.
