Why, that's a Bicknell Thrush!  And I picked it cause it's a species of special concern which Whiteface protected in the 2005 unit managment planning process.  Which I think is a very noble action!

I've only seen cedar waxwings one year since I've moved north into Essex Ctny. I loved to watch them polish off the mountain ash berries during winters at home in Rensselear Ctny.  Beautiful bird!

this morning a green heron perched on a branch in one of the ash trees for five minutes giving us ample time to look and study its features with binoculars before he flew over to the pond.interesting bird actually baits minnows with food to draw them close to snatch them

i have a bald eagle living near me now..  I see it get chased up the creek by a bunch of crows.    Then I'll see it coming back on it's own..   Also saw it eating some road kill across the street... Thing is pretty big.

Also got some coopers hawks around taking out our doves..

I dig raptors..

Nice!!! I’ve only seen 2 bald eagles in my life. One was last year while playing golf (we had one nesting along the banks of the Tioughnioga river), and the other was years ago driving thru the Montezuma swamp. Amazing creatures!!!!
