Yeah, I don't know.  I don't know much about building drops.  This one is pretty ghetto - just a board stuffed into the dirt with some bracing up front.  There's a bunch of janky wood stuff built out here.  The landing tranny is probably the most sophisticated thing about it, and it's hard to tell, but you run out of space really quickly.  The trail splits there and takes a sharp right or straight and drops into a 5' ditch and around that small knoll in the background.

Dude, way beyond me --- he's still young (in his 30's) ---- That trail he's on I don't even want to walk down it. I'll ski it, but won't walk it. LOL

I'm good for 3-4' depending on the landing.

I'll see if I can get some photo or video of a pretty cool double drop in the area.  I think it's actually natural, or maybe slightly sculpted as it's a giant oak? growing kind of sideways out of a steep slope.  It's about 1' then a short flat landing and 3' drop to a downslope.

I remember the first time I rode it I pogo'd the front end.  I didn't sight it, just went straight in... rolled the first little drop and came in way nose heavy to the second... wham... landed the second with the my rear tire up in the air, straight down on my fork.  I'm surprised I didn't go OTB but I pulled back like crazy when I hit.

Next time I sighted it from the bottom... it's not that bad, you just have to come in at a little different angle, pop the first drop, snipe a little landing spot about the length of the bike and manual back off the second drop... smooth as butter that way.

Anyway, being an old gnarled tree, it looks pretty cool.

60 days on the mtb today.  I was hoping to get 80, but it doesn't look like it this year unless I get on a real tear in October.

Get thee some Minions!  In the last 3 days of riding I've PR'd every tech or dh segment I've ridden.  And blah, blah, blah... I don't REALLY care about the times, but I look at them to keep me honest.  Fact of the matter is it's made this bike a lot more fun, and to me, that's what matters most.  And yeah, going faster is more fun... usually.

It's probably the the BB itself.  Is it threaded or press fit?

Also just grab the crank and see if it wobbles back and forth.  It's it's that, then adjust the preload.  If not and you have a threaded BB, pull the whole BB, clean and regrease the threads.  You need a special tool to pull the BB, but it's cheap.

If you have a pressfit BB, you're probably effed unless you want to have the shop put a new one in.

Yeah, pf = press fit.  Notorious for being noisy POS.

Check the crank though, if you can wobble it, def tighten.

A couple other things to check - your pedals.  Easy way to eliminate them is if you have another pair.

Also be sure it's not your seatpost.  Make sure it's noisy when you stand up and pedal too.

That's all I can think of without looking at the bike first hand.

Spray a little white lithium grease on the peddles. Worked for me.

Big plastic brush for cleaning. Let it dry then knock it off. Hosing it will make your botton brackets squeek.🙄did it.

Those Chesters are rebuildable.  I'd hunt down another pair of pedals and swap to see if it is them or the BB bearings.
