For crissakes  act like a college kid ,🤓make your sandwich in the dorm , we used the fn windiw sills as refrigerators back then. Use you so called inventiveness , brown bag it anyway .

Sno, "Our 'Lil Bro",

Next time you venture to Gore hit up Jacob's & Tony's in Warrensburg, even if you're coming from the Northern extremes of Potsdamnville. Their subs are made to order, farmhand portions and don't be a vegen, add more bacon and salami.  You'll make new friends and might pick up some pointers on life in general and skiing in particular the ravenous crew that you share your trophy sub with.

Heck, let us know when you're coming (with the J&T subs and we'll bake you a cake, you buy the beer, err, we'll order them you pay for'em).  Jus' sayin'.

Merry Kwanzicah, ski you on the Hill.

Me too - when I tried the management just pitched at me to get out of the lodge with my skis on...

No practical way for me to get around these prices either.  Don't really have the means to bring any food, as I don't have a kitchen in my dorm building.
Petit Homme,  stop at the little souper market in Wilmington and purchase deli sandwich.  There are white slips on top of the deli counter with all the options.  make checks next to want you want and slide it politely to the ladies behind the counter.  Sandwich, chips and a drink for under 6 bucks.  The little souper is famous for the size of their sammies!  they also make excellent breakfast sammies for 2.49 cents.

carry in a small backpack which you can safely leave at mid.

and stop bitching so much.
I was going to suggest the same thing to him.  Great subs.  I usually get a medium and split it with my wife but my son will eat it all himself.  Smoked turkey and cheddar is my order.  That also is what we pick up to eat on boating days on LP in the summer.

Hot water + Ketchup packets + saltines... MMmm.  You could also ask the guy next to you if he's gonna finish his lunch.

Yeah, seems like he has a lot of nothing problems and people on forums do love to give advice. That said, I sure hope the kid can figure out things for himself in real life better that he comes across here.

I bet he can, and will, when pressed.  I used to be convinced my kiddos were doomed, unable to fight their way out of a paper bag because my wife and I, prolly much like SnoMom and SnoDad, did way too much for them. However, I have to say that my daughter, finally away from home in college, is thriving and making very good, mature, well balanced decisions and coping well. We did a better job than we thought!  Heck, she's even making wise, prudent and mature relationship decisions, which I figured she had NO shot at after growing up with my wife and I!  Remember, I left my wife on several days notice to ski a weekend across the continent, and we fight too much....but I guess our example there hasn't been that bad, either!!

JTG4eva!
So, with respect to the subject matter, all I really need to know is......at 11:00 (12:00 on Sunday's) can I stumble in, after slaying it GR style-steezy all morning, and all sweatily drop my shit and get my double with extra horseradish in a pint glass Bloody Mary, or do I have be all civilized and check in at the podium and get myself a table?  When it's crowded and I want to make friends with that group of 4 who is sitting at a six top, can I still grab a seat and say hi! and start drinking.....or do I have to be all civilized and shit and stop at the podium....??

I don't know how much they are at Gore because the bartender won't take my order.  It's true I've never successfully ordered a beer in the Tannery.  I usually give up after 4 ignores.
The Tannery experience could be greatly improved upon. I have bought beer at the coffee stand outside the entrance and then carried it into the bar to drink with friends. WAY faster.

Grillman
I just plan on keep doing what I have done for the last decade.

Drop off the bag at mid, stop by on occasion to pick up beverages for the Gondi ride/summit quad, light the grill in the afternoon, feed my family and friends, and then ski some more.

If i have to grill on the snow, and not on the deck, I can do that too.

Im not gonna worry...
