No practical way for me to get around these prices either. Don't really have the means to bring any food, as I don't have a kitchen in my dorm building. Also, if it's a busy day, I want to stay on the upper mountain and not return to the base till the end of the day. Brown bagging lunch requires one to eat where they started, which means going to the bottom on a busy day, and a long gondola line to get back up.
Dude...grocery store nite before, pack, leave at mid. Look around next time and see how many packs are hanging there. ....And if I had access to a college dining hall that's probably unlimited food, I'd be hitting that up with an empty grocery bag for dinner the night before, and walking out with tmrw's lunch for skiing ready to roll...take advantage of that meal plan!!!
Skiing is not a sport, it is a way of life.
