I got out for two runs at lunch today.

Snow was nice particularly the soft but not too soft bumps on Essex.  Victoria is partially blown but it looks like it needs another day of snowmaking to open.  They did add Broadway which of course us a park.

A few spots are getting very thin at top and bottom of tower 10 pitch.

I will be there Saturday working.  Maybe we can have a beverage afterward.

I'm not privy to plans to open Victoria but unless they can blow more on it it's not opening based on how it looked today.

It will be a rare deck day in December at the Cloudspin lounge.

They took away our employee beer discount  but they are having some more specials for everyone.

Tower 10 hill holding up fine.  Definitely not a $hitshow 😎.
Softy top to ottoman, good coverage. Vic open, 50 foot walk at bottom runout.

Re: Whiteface Conditions

Had to laugh when I saw how my iPhone slaughtered my post from the gondi this afternoon.

The Face is really holding up well in this shitty weather pattern we're in.  Highlight of the day was Victoria.  For some reason the snow there was far drier than the rest of the mountain, must be a function of less skier traffic or something.  Vic had nice soft bumps top to bottom.  The best line of the day was taking Essex for some legit black diamond spring bumps and then cutting across to Vic.  Rinse & repeat.  Excelsior was good too, but the bumps on Essex and Vic kept calling us.  Basically everything that's open has good coverage and soft spring conditions.  Gotta take your skis off about 100' from the gondi and walk through a bit of mud, but no big deal.  Crappy photos from today but here's a few:

Daniel surveying Victoria:

This is the choke point at the bottom of Vic.  There was just enough snow mixed in with the grass that you could shoot it, as Sylvie just did here:

We had kinda low expectations for the day but it turned out to be a great one.  If anyone's on the fence for tomorrow, it's definitely worth heading up.  There's a reason why 3 out of my 4 ski days so far this season are up at WF, imo it's just better than Gore early season.

Coach, we wrapped up early around 3pm and hit the Cloudspin for about 20 min before heading out. Didn't see you, figured you were still out on the hill. Next time.

Jeff sorry i missed ya

My son decided it was more important for me to go get a Christmas tree than rehydrate after skiing.

Thank you WF Host Patrollers for breaking out the shovels to keep the fast grass on Victoria flowing! Much appreciated

Kudos to WF staff, hope they read this, skied Friday and again Sat morning.  Great job with the limited opportunities this "season" we had a great time.   Other than the field of rocks growing on 50 yards of the upper part of Lower Northway the two main descents are well covered.  Essex is a blast, as is most of Lower Northway.   Much more fun  than the Big K the prior weekend!

Unfortunately Rob decided that the air hockey and pool table didn't make him enough money.  What he doesn't get is that stuff occupied our kids so we could have a few drinks.  Games gone and he will scratch his head as to why there are less people in the bar.

Bring back the fooseball and air hockey tables!  We should start a petition.

Well the weather guessers were wrong.  I doubt anyone saw that freeze coming.  The upper mt down to upper valley was slick today.  Nothing WF skiers can't handle but I for one was surprised for sure.  They probably should have been making snow last night.

I figured it would be firm up top, but couldn't resist walking on to the gondi.  Stunning views up top and pretty fast. I lapped the facelift until it go warmer and then did four laps on Victoria with my new friend Jack the Ripper.

Some incredible teleskiers out today.

Showed Aaron and the Mountain Hosts the positive comments upthread ^^ from Scotty and Hoser and they were pumped.

I had a hell of a lot of fun today.

Sat am I got the idea to drive up Sat PM and ski WF on Sunday.  I was a bit surprised when my wife said she also thought it was a good idea.

This ^^ is what pushed me over the edge. I was in the car, in the driveway, packed. I was pondering the sanity of what I was considering.  Up popped Jeff's post on my phone, and it seemed like a sign from god.  Off I went.
