What I can say is everyone at WF is doing thier damnest to make sure the guests are having a good time.  I
If this upcoming storm(s) pan out, at least stay mostly frozen, combined with what looks like some colder temps part of this week - how you think things will be looking upcoming Fri/sat/sun?

From WF:

Right now we are going back to our open terrain and working on getting  Bear Den mountain in shape. Our next steps are Easy Street, Boreen, Danny’s Bridge and The Face. The summit will be in the mix very soon as well. We got about 5 inches last night and looking forward to more!

There is a big race Jan 9 so they will soon start in the Mt run, thruway Drapers area before they start blowing the summit.

Today was the deadline to pull the plug on the freestyle WC.  I didn't see an announcement on that but given the depth of snow needed my guess is it's cancelled.

How are things skiing today after this storm passed through?  How much non-frozen precip ended up falling all said and done?  Net effect looking good?

Assuming guns will be on as much as possible with this colder weather coming thru

Heading up tomorrow for the weekend

There was more like 5 inches from the storm once it consolidated.  It was dense  so it did a good job of covering the rocks.  There was a good deal of rain and sleet mixed in as well.

Victoria is skiing the best right now.  Too warm to blow today so no new trails on line.  I heard Boreen would be next to be blown as soon as temps allow.  Numbers are not off too bad as I think not many other areas are even open but that makes for pretty crowded slopes given what is skiable.    Tuesday was Crazy busy with Black Friday shopping type crowds.  Today was less crowded in comparison.  Should mellow out with hopefully more terrian as well by the weekend.  Typically Sunday is the best day to ski as the non holiday passes don't start back to Monday I think and the crowds head home.

We're heading up tomorrow.  Skiing Thurs and Fri.  Will post. WF is saving my family's early season skiing.  As of Fri we'll have 8 days in, 75% of those at WF.  LOVE that dual mountain pass.

Good coverage tricky vis up high, pretty crowded, some good snow but some areas pretty scraped.
Will be better tomorrow.

Re: Whiteface Conditions

Skied the Face yesterday and today, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.  Despite some pretty crowded trails, we had a great time both days.  LWF lift was spinning both days, which was great as it allowed us to avoid a return all the way to the base through the "killing fields" below the mid-mountain lodge.  A decent variety of terrain, essentially the same trails that have been open the last several weeks.  The crowds (huge numbers of beginners and low level intermeds) hammered the slopes hard, but the grooming and snowmaking crews did an amazing job putting the mountain back together overnight.  Essex and Victoria were the favs both days, but Vic today was really great under the guns.  This makes 6 out of 8 days so far this season up at the Face for me.  Lovin' it.  Tough weather conditions for photos, but here's a few:

Sylvie (pink) and Daniel (dark grey with the orange stripe, downslope) on Vic:

Some tele guy on Vic:

Beth diggin' Northway:

The killing fields, Tower 10 hill:

By the way, a shout out for the beef stew at Boule's (downstairs mid-mountain).
And, for Coach, it should be better tomorrow.

Haha.

Although maybe the western experience will lessen his mountain creek fanboy posts, and lead to more exploration of decent eastern mountains.

Things are getting better for sure.  First real winter snow conditions yesterday.  I was so sick of that Frozen Granular semi spring snow from all the freeze thaws.

Getting multiple paths to the bottom will ease the burden on Valley.

Heard they plan to run that race next weekend - good news for my son.  Also means blowing is likely moving to Mt Run pod today.

Still crowded for what's open so everyone please be careful.
