I'll believe the second one when I see it. They were supposed to do major upgrades this year but then failed to do so. Until then any trail that is added will result in an existing one of equivalent acreage never seeing snowmaking again. They chose not to open Hoyt's and Lookout Below before the season even started. What's gonna be the next thing they decide to leave to rot? Skyward, Mac? They're trying to become another Stratton and are destroying some of the best skiing in the east. I wouldn't be so vehemently opposed to adding a couple more intermediate trails if they proved that they could open what they have already in a timely manner, but they clearly can't and there's no way to deny it.

What is the source of this information?

They didn't cut the brush down that's 7 feet tall now. They clearly had no intention of ever opening either this season and they could have done it during any of what like 5 months so I refuse to believe that there was no way to get it done. Clearly it's by choice. I guess opening two great expert trails doesn't fit with the new "high end family friendly" image that the gov wants.
And looking at the report Lookout is back to being closed so they spent a week trying to get it open and they can't even staff the lift.

You’re a smart kid Sno with some great ideas but what you don’t have is real life experience managing anything and that’s evident from your posts. You can want and plan for everything that you can come up with but unfortunately in the real world it’s rare you can get it all.

A couple thousand linear feet of waterpipe was replaced this year.
I very much enjoyed the “expert” WF experience yesterday.

They could decide to not open anything except Kids Kampus all year and you'd still never say anything bad about Whiteface. This season has been a complete disaster operationally and you can expect many people who defected to Max Pass to not come back when they realized how much better everything else is run in comparison. I know multiple people who were ORDA Passholders that switched to Max Pass this year and since that's toast they're switching to the new Ikon Pass next year instead of coming back.
The new Freeway lift idea has grown on me mainly because I hate riding the gondola and if they actually run the new lift on a regular basis (unlike the Little Whiteface lift) I could get to all the good terrain without riding it.

How about paying attention to the news ... there were some more important things going on than worrying about whether some snot nose kid can ski his beloved Lookout Mountain. The reality is, you don't know a thing about anything. It's seriously time for you to shut up and go away. Please don't come back to Whiteface ... no one will miss you.

Can we get that on a bumper sticker? |
No excuses. They waited till February to open it so they'd better have it open every single day until it's not skiable anymore. I thought about going this morning but I'm glad I didn't. And if they don't open Lookout back by the weekend then I will have to reconsider whether I'm skiing there or not. They already lost me for President's Weekend since I won't be able to lap the Lookout lift to avoid lines since Wilmington forces you down to the base. Last year my best non-Slides day was the Sunday President's Weekend. Skied myself silly on nothing but Hoyt's and Lookout Below all afternoon with zero lines on the busiest day of the year. Too bad that they won't have nearly as good of a product this year, even with better weather.

Wtf... Today was an epic powder day.. best of year... And all you are worried about is skiing a long and boring blue? I thought all you cared about were advance trails.

They almost opened Wilmington on Sunday when I was there, but didn't. I can ski Thursday mornings and not miss class if I plan accordingly but I have not done so yet. I was thinking of doing that today because of the recent snow and to ski Wilmington, but decided not to since I had some work I needed to get done. I ski just about every blue or higher trail as soon as I can after it opens for the season.
Since they closed it again after only what like 3 days open (with ample natural snow the day before), I am totally convinced that they don't give a shit about opening that part of the mountain on any given day and I have to try and be extra sure that they will if I'm going for that purpose. If I'm going to Killington or Tremblant mid season I don't even give it a second thought thay they'll open all the trails Patrol deems skiable and run lifts to get there. My dad is coming up this weekend and we were going to ski Whiteface but it looks like it might end up being Killington instead.
