Wilderness was covered well.  I doubt it's done.  Essex and Upper Northway were finished after the thaw last year.

WHITEFACE WAS RUN SO WELL THIS YEAR!
Just curious what drugs you're on or why you think that when that statement has been anything but true.

Sno, you only need a two step program.

Step 1.  Say the three words.  I......was.......wrong.

Step 2.  Evaluate what led you to Step 1.

Granted, Step 2 might require some additional effort, so maybe you’ll really need a 12....or 20?....step program.

Granted, the forecast doesn’t scream recovery, but at least there are no blowtorches or gully washers.  One day at a time...

Presently surprised.

The question is whether it is actually enjoyable to ski or a tilted hockey think with rocks poking through.

Sno.....don’t change the convo.  The first step in overcoming your problem is admitting you have a problem.  Work the program, Sno!!

I believe they had a group of VIPs in that March.  It was a good decision to restart snowmaking so late in the year as the season finished on a date near- or as expected.
Everyone who spends 100 bucks to ski at Whiteface is a VIP. That includes full paying pass holders

Somber mood at the mtn today.  Matched the conditions.  Big Mtn Tour was the route of the day.

Skyward to Wilmington. Repeat.

Jim Hoyt Sr past yesterday on last sweep.  60 year whiteface ski patrol veteran.  Mountain man.  He will be missed.

God Bless senior.

Wow, what an impressive run he had. 80 is young to die, but at least he died while doing what he loved.

Here's an article written 10 years ago on him when he celebrated 50 years of patrolling:

We all have to go some time, but I can't really imagine a more fitting way for someone like him to go out ... on his terms, doing what he loved.

80 is a pretty good run IMO. He passed while on patrol? Wow.

Rest in peace Senior.

They opened about 10min early but only Bear, Freeway, and Facelift.  Gondola opened on time but line is huge as usual.  No one on Freeway and Little Whiteface opening soon.

Surface is good but tops of Mountain Run and Wilderness are worryingly thin.  Heading towards the summit.

Can anyone explain why the summit chair singles line is always roped off?  I just duck the rope because no way am I standing in line when there's chairs going up with empty seats I could taken.  But other people aren't doing that and the lift is not being loaded efficiently.

Shit......oh, wait.  I’m good.  It IS March 3 today.  Whew!

Ummm.......we just skied the summit.  We skied on to the summit quad.  Literally, not one person in front of us.  There is no line.  Maybe that has something to do with why they aren’t using the singles line?

As for huge lines for the gondola, well.....no.  First ride we waited maybe 5 minutes.  Maybe?  Second ride wasn’t much longer.

I want so badly to NOT comment on Sno’s posts.  I don’t like the kid thinking that I don’t like him.  That’s not the case.  We met and shook hands.  He’s a good kid, I like his passion.

But really.......he’d give people the impression there are long lines and lift issues/inefficiencies today.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

Not sure how hard it is to make sure the singles line rope is down.  Apparently it's pretty hard.  There was short line earlier but there isn't now.

I never timed the gondola line earlier but it looked pretty long from what I could see.  Not much of a line but now, but I'm dressed too warm to ride it anyways.
