I have skied Gore and Whiteface multiple times this year, Gore is my home mountain...everyone I ski with has acknowledged whiteface has done a phenomenal job so far with their snow making....leaps and bounds above Gore despite Gore having an unlimited water supply...no one has cared about lookout at all...quality always greater than quantity. Lines have been a non issue at both mountains and I skied xmas week at both.

your glass isn't half empty or half full - its shattered Sno - you cant go thru life so miserable. Might be time to talk to your school pschyologist about why you can't make friends and are so unhappy No reason anyone would want to ride to the summit of LWF on a Friday on that lift on a windy weekday when the Gondi is running. It normally is closed on weekdays anyway and they are only running the other side due the bumps going on.

NE27......what did I tell you about confusing Sno with facts! Oh, wait, before Sno loads on some more BS maybe I should specify RELEVANT facts! Psst.....Sno, I've skied previous and recent Pres day weekends at WF without Lookout....and the skimageddon of which you speak....nonexistent. Once you stop creating unrealistic scenarios in your not yet fully formed mind, well....maybe you can get to the real business of skiing, or the business of real skiing.
We REALLY need a proper roll eyes emoji!!

You're going to be pretty pissed when Echo is marked as open, you ski/hike Cedars all the way over to the BRQ, and reach the top to find Echo closed for racing and Hedges as your only option. Not saying that's gonna happen this weekend, but it has happened to me before. |

I've skied them both too, and in December, Whiteface was doing better than Gore hands down. Now the tables have turned because of where each mountain's management decided to make snow this past week. No one cared about Lookout so far because it was still very early in the season, and it's simply impractical at this point to open it that early. Crowds were lower too, for the same reason. Once they cut the last trail, it will become more practical to open earlier. Now it's the heart of the season, crowds are reaching their peak, and Whiteface just wasted a week building base depths that should'be been used for terrain expansion. Meanwhile, Gore just did a large expansion of open terrain and will be great this weekend. Whiteface resurfacing open terrain when they knew r*in was coming didn't improve conditions. It built base depths, but that can be done later, after Lookout is open. After this weekend is a shit show with huge lift lines, people are going to start caring about Lookout. I'm not changing my opinion that Gore made the right decision to expand terrain and Whiteface made the wrong decision by choosing not to expand terrain.

I most certainly would be very pissed and would be writing a letter to management if that happened. Not going to happen this weekend because the only race scheduled is happening at the bottom of Twister and Showcase.

Dear SnoLoco,
Thank you for your letter dated 12th of January, explaining your unrealistic expectations regarding snow making at Whiteface Mountain specifically in regards to the Lookout Mountain Pod. Your repeated delusional rants, worthless petition combined with a blatant lack of common sense normally associated with decent human beings leaves us little choice but to geocode your season pass. Be advised Host Patrol will be notified of your every location on our mountain. They will be instructed to make your visit with us at Whiteface as unpleasant as possible. If I was you I would not leave my ski gear unattended especially your boots. Our hard working and dedicated snowtrible has expressed an interest in leaving something in your boots that would not be confused as a rolled up brown sock. In closing you will see that we have enclosed your letter and you will notice that we have taken the liberty of rolling it up very tightly which should make it easier for you to stick it up your arse. Yours sincerely,
I ride with Crazy Horse!

I haven't been to Gore this year so I cant speak to the veracity of your above claim. However, if Gore did, indeed, just recently "expand terrain" as you say, which usually means it's just barely now able to be opened, please return to this thread on January 23rd and tell me if you still think Gore made the right decision.
Can we get SOME snow? Please?

My Bud who works the lifts there told me that the Sunway chair's transmission went out last year and they stole the one from lift 6, they had blown a ton of snow on Hullabaloo & lower Darby and the lift didn't spin - so who is not correct, you or the people who work there?
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

All part of my evil plan. Thach gets a gold star for being observant. Sno fell for it or he would be at WF this weekend. I don't know anyone at ORDA and I made up the part about the lower mountain. Sorry if this caused any negative effects for anyone who is actually in the know. Have fun at Gore Sno! Maybe next time think twice before you "shit where you eat" You are jeopardizing someone's livelihood with your over the top expectations and complaints.

Please. Deep down, in places you don't want to admit, you know you didn't sleep well last night, and that I'm right. Get over yourself.
P.s. Somehow you managed to screw up a guy like SJ willing to take you under his wing and show you around. Now he can't stand you. How does that make you feel Pettit Homme? Maybe read your life coaching thread a bit grasshopper.
