I'm pretty sure little snoloco has never been spanked, always gets what he wants, and has never heard the word no... |

So you don't end up with a WROD in the spring. Think about the ratio between surface area and volume. A small surface area with a large volume (mound of snow) will yield less melt/runoff. It's the same as if you bundled up a wet towel; it won't dry as quickly. Side note: I find it strangely amusing how Sno can swear but can't type the word 'rain.' Along those lines, a t.v. station in Toronto was airing the movie Casino. When the word 'mother****r came up, they censored 'mother' part.

I guess it's a discussion for the off topic, but I don't see why you need to be spanked to understand when you're being a whiny little bitch.
And, as I think I said somewhere else, the spanking he receives from the world when he graduates and tries to get an actual job with his attitude will probably be pretty brutal. And the spanking he receives when he looks at his paycheck and realizes that it's not enough to afford rent and food, let alone ski trips all over the world will be equally painful. But part of being young is being naïve, so there's really no point in harping on the kid. Just accept that his opinions come from where they do, and move on. I've heard plenty of bitching and moaning at ski resorts on beautiful days ("there's too much snow", "the sun is too bright") that I ignore. My advice to you guys that are pissed off is to do the same with snoloco. |

Oh i imagine lil snoloco might just be a KNOWN quantity at Clarkson already with that snot nosed 'tude of his .
Perhaps a come uppance will soon materialize there . There is an ole North Country adage that says "give a pia enough rope ,they will end up hanging themselves ."
Life ain't a dress rehearsal: Spread enthusiasm , avoid negative nuts.

Have you looked at the weather? Monday & Tuesday would be good snowmaking windows early next week, then warm weather returns. Probably upper 30s Wednesday, mid 30s Thursday, upper 30s Friday, etc... So I would use that window to protect what they have, NOT for terrain expansion. True winter returns to the north country around the 23rd of January. Dont expect much help from Mother Nature until then.
Can we get SOME snow? Please?

Bobby, is that a banjo I heard playing...
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

Wait a second, so you are saying that the snowmaking crew and upper management are strategically planning their snowmaking efforts in conjunction with a ten day weather forecast? GTFO! But I want it open and I want it open now! :D |

Full on shit show now. Not the dump Sno was hoping for.

its 50 degrees, move the guns to lookout!

Didn't catch an email in response to the second one I sent. They missed my first one.
From Tuesday (r*in already in forecast at that time): "As of right now the tentative schedule is to move snow making over to LOOKOUT Mt. After world cup concludes. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask." Good to hear. WC ends Saturday, so I assume resurface before that. My guess is it opens the weekend of the 28th. Too late if you ask me, but better late than never.

I doubt it. They likely wont start blowing it until the 23rd or 24th.

I'm reporting right off the email I received from management. Since it was sent after we knew we were getting r*in and nothing changed in the forecast, I have no reason not to believe what they sent me.

Sno, relax dude your going to have a stroke.
Tele turns are optional not mandatory.

Just talked to one of my contacts at ORDA. They will blow snow on Lookout even if they know it won't open. The theory is they have a budget to spend and if it doesn't get spent, the funds are questioned for next year's snowmaking budget. (Which is already on the chopping block)

I call BS on this.
If they knew Lookout wasn't opening, they would instead blow more snow on the LWF and Summit terrain. According to the email they sent me, they'll be moving up there this weekend on Sunday, after they touch up some high traffic areas. We shall see how it all plays out.

Think about what happened in years past. My guy calls the shots to the guys that call the shots. No lookout for you Pettit Homme!

It only didn't open last year. I didn't agree with it because I thought it was a slippery slope to not opening it in subsequent years, but it was understanable given how horrible last year was.
It has opened all other years since it's existed, and had better open this year.

Or else what? It's not happening anymore. Get used to it.
