this is a total FUBAR..

Multiple forecasts, and a winter storm warning, calling for 6-10 in the northern Adirondacks on the back end.  That could soften things for Whiteface and maybe NEK on Saturday to keep surface conditions from being terrible.  How much terrain/base is lost to the warm rain today is the crucial question.....

For you dreamers.....M-F is showing 2 ft at 4800!

Right now the blow looks especially tough on Magic.

I'll be in Lake Placid by this evening - will post what I see.  Hopefully something white by post-drive beer time tonight.

Pretty colors?

Its pretty tropical up here.  Snow was gone in yard by 530am dog walk.  Rained hard in am hours but not bad since 10.  

The manmade on the mtn holding up way better than the artic blower that was piled up in yard.  6-12+ on the back side will save the weekend.  

Is this map showing an improved storm track?

a lot of that is lake effect due the north winds
6-10 for the mountains seems like a good bet...depends if things get glazed over with freezing rain before the snow..if it does then the snow might be meaningless
