He's calling for a possible "something" next weekend...

Long range has something appreciable next week - but it's pretty far out.

I just looked at all the maps..and see nothing appreciable...couple of warm fronts with snow going to rain...but things change it's the long range

You totally missed that one - let’s hope your wrong again, however the tarot cards told me your probably right - bupkiss over the next week, maybe a dusting on Saturday.

relativity warm and wet...with some arctic air thrown in for good measure

I see nothing exciting next two plus weeks, with a good amount of rain also expected.  Having the polar vortex locked in over Alaska is a very bad pattern for eastern skiers.  Hopefully something changes by mid January.  This winter has featured one big storm that was focused 50 miles either side of i-90, outside of that its been relatively cool but uneventful.  The cool air that was prominent in the first half of the month (due to blocking) has now been replaced by a more fast flow PAC driven pattern with the occasional cutter.  

We had more snow in the Fall thread. I'm going back there.

Was really dreary yesterday, lost a good bit of snow and not a lot in the forecast. I think I’ll put the skis up and put on the boots and spikes and hike a bit.

Your always welcome, good conversation on a hike makes it more enjoyable.

What a great change from the earlier forecast of rain!  The local yokels are calling for 2-4 in southern Vermont now.  Serious ice storm in the Catskills and Berkshires though, a half inch of ice is coming, which can be catastrophic.  

I don’t see much snow with this until Monday night, serious ice storm inbound.  Looks more like freezing rain compared to sleet which is no bueno
