Sno, I have a feeling that you will like college a lot better. A fresh start is always a good thing. High school was a complete disaster for me. I got expelled from high school near the end of my junior year, and had to go to a special ed. program at BOCES to finish high school. I was in classes with a bunch of idiots who did much worse things than I did. After the people at BOCES realized I was actually a good kid, they were willing to work with me, and I got to actually do some cool things while I was at BOCES. I spent part of my time doing my required coursework, but I got to spend some of my time with the Building Trades program. So, ironically, my senior year ended up being my most exciting year of high school. It was both a disaster, and a blessing. I stood out at that school as one of the more motivated kids. I also signed up for a couple Evening classes at SUNY Oneonta, and began my college work early, only proving that this major mess up would not actually ruin my life like the idiot administrators at my high school wanted.
I did not normally tell people this story, but now that I am graduated, and now a full-time college student, I can laugh at it. I am not at a prestigious school like Clarkson by any means, but the fact that I am at a state university with a 3.6 GPA is quite remarkable considering where I was one year ago. I do not have a lot of friends, but I have a few. My best friends are still the friends I have had for a long time, and I still get to see at home. My main focus at college is my schoolwork, not to be social. Not to mention the majority of the people on a state campus I do not even want to be friends with.
That being said, my transition to college was a fresh start in my life, and nobody hangs the past over my head. I hope the same applies to you.
I'll take boilerplate ice over wet snow any day
