Re: Camp

We use and old shit spreader to haul to the woodshed. That thing holds 6 to 7 cord per trip. It doesn't take long to fill it with 3 to 4 guys constantly chucking wood in.

You must be getting itchy Camper !

I awoke to the sounds  of gunfire in the distance a day or so ago  , must be duck season is on up here  . Probably  youth day , since i dont think season starts in earnest up here till first week in OCT .

Gotta say I am impressed with the speed at which you guys fill that farmers wood shed 🙀  Damn that could be a good side gig when you retire hahahah

Yeah, can't wait.

Pretty sure your hearing guys hunting goose -- goose just opened up. Judging from the shots at my house there will be a few less geese making the trek south this year as well.

I used to think my name was "get wood" until I was 16, no way in hell will I touch that stuff when I retire, well, unless we're still filling this same woodshed

We all fell really good doing it for him. Like I said, he truly appreciates it and that seems to be the only way we can thank him. He won't take a dime from us. We maintain the camp as well. It ain't no palace but it's warm and dry. Mostly.

Huh - I bet you're right.  I didn't know they did that up in this area but I looked it up and there appears to be a number of farms in eastern Ohio.  Lame.

They get like that around here as well.

Here's a buck taken near our camp, not farm raised.

That's a better lookin' buck IMO.  A lot more symmetrical.

I still can't believe they farm in Ohio.  I thought that was a southern thing.  I've been to Ohio once, another reason not to go back

It's a biz. Some peeps will pay big bucks (pun intended) to go and shoot an animal in a fence. Doesn't make sense to me but I guess it doesn't have too.

There's an elk farm near my house. Not for hunting but for the antlers. He sells them off in Japan for major money, sells the meat locally as well. It's fun to drive by and check those big bastards out!

It could still be a wild animal. Ohio produces some monsters.

My Uncle told me a story about being at a game farm in Wyoming where a guy paid 4k to walk up to a bison and shoot from 10 feet away. That bison was like a pet that was hand fed by humans it's whole life.

Eccentric rich folks sure do seem confused on the aspects that make accomplishments special.

Since you mentioned it, southern Ohio is a hot bed for Big foot hunting.
