Nothing too tough for those bastards --- here's one I came across this year that the yotes got --- I'm assuming the thing got stuck by an arrow and the hunter never found him, or the coyotes just ran him down.

If he got stuck and the yotes got him, then they are doing their job.  They shouldn't be able to take down a healthy, full grown, adult buck though.

I concur, but the late rut is on! He will be moving (hopefully), in fact I saw him cross the road a few days ago at 1:30 while driving home to tend to my pups. Damn near drove right off the road.

Couldn't stalk him Sunday after seeing him, snow was WAY too crunchy. No way I was going to get close enough to get a shot off.

Very true --- also, as you know, as soon as you take one that's when all the work starts. There's a lot that needs to be done to get one from the field to the freezer.
