City slickers are using VT as their virus hideout

Hey.  Right now, I get pissed every time I see a TX or FL license plate in NJ.

A note on people with no sense of direction.  When I was in college, I worked for a summer as a Garden State Parkway toll collector.  People would always ask for directions, and not just an exit for Clifton or Seaside Park.  Once, some guy asked me how to get to Chicago.

Yeah, but a licence plate isn't that good of an indicator.  I know people with Michigan and North Carolina licence plates who only have out-of-state plates because of the way their leases are set up.

Plus, rental cars often have out of state plates.  This could be a rental car used by someone who was recently in an accident.

I don't see any reason to be angry at other Americans.  Even though we all have different views, we're in this together.

IMO Fauci leads by example in the area.

I was hoping to get back to Lake Placid this summer.  But given the NY Travel Advisory listing so many states, that's not going to happen.  It's not worth the stress.  I understand the thinking behind the idea.  But I wish there wasn't so much inconsistency across regions related to COVID-19.

I bet you also had green plates for a year or so after moving back. Now that I think about it I had Illinois plates for a while too

Email from a friend who lives in Warren VT.  (Almost heaven)  Wrote that there were 145 new post office box rentals this spring.  Implication that out of staters are moving north.
