Re: Gore Conditions

It just keeps getting better.  What did they end up running on Sunday a SL instead of the planning SG?   Where was the start and end of the course they had to like to?   Not on echo allowing the BRQ to run?    Guessing waterfall?

It was a 45 gate short SL on Echo
I didn’t walk up but the start was on the flats below worm hole.  Once the lift did run you supposedly could get there from the cut over on Twister they said but Gore hadn’t groomed Twister so it was closed another brain fart.  So even though the lift loaded before the 2nd run they hiked again. Nice job Gore

The kids were awesome and hiked in the rain without complaint.
Good for them --- how did lil Z make out??

You pretty much summed up why SnoreLoco isn't a racer

Hey camp, you can fuck off.  You don't even ski at all.

This has nothing to do with whether I decided to get into ski racing or not.  I haven't done it as I prefer to pick my own trails and pace.
I've lived in New York my entire life.

I wouldn't fool with Paul Bunyon

Not to take any attention away from the ax man....BUT.....I did happen to look at the long range forecast.  If a blocking high pressure can take hold and push the tropical moisture out over the Atlantic, we might be able to realize some decent snow.

In like Lion?

He had a 4th and 7th in the two SLs
And a 5th in the GS
His best event is Super G but ma nature didn’t want that run I guess

That put him in at 6th in NYS for U16 for the series.  He also had the best results without a dnf and thus the best combined results for all 3 events.
He is a first yr of the two year age group so this was a great result also lowered his ussa points (lower is better)
Going to Eastern Champs at Stowe in a couple weeks

Gore skied really well today. Down low it started getting pretty soft early and was masked potatoes are lunch. Darkside skied really well even in the afternoon. The cover is pretty thin all over and there are plenty of big brown patches. I don't think they lost too much today but the next few days are even warmer.

Wait, Am I missing something? Why in hell would Gore not run the gondi or ADKII on a Sunday?
I'll take boilerplate ice over wet snow any day

They didn't begin loading passengers until 9:00 this morning which I assumed was also due to ice.

Maybe we've been punished enough and mother nature is really going to deliver.  And don't forget....round two late next week is still on the horizon.

If you think we're going to get 13-20" of snow from Thursday-Friday, I'll take the under.

North Creek elevation too low.  Follow Johnsburg, I've found that it more closely represents what will happen on the Mountain, its a higher elevation.
