Can see one fan at the base.  I find I'm wanting a cam at the saddle.

Per the comments on Gore's facebook, they're planning on having Topridge open for the first day. When that is is still undecided.

"See what happens? They get one cam and they want more,"  said somebody in the Gore front office.

Just checked the base cam and the guns are blowing.

Forecast for this coming week is looking positive and Mother Nature might lay down some snow which would surely go a long way toward an early opening.

Usually this time of year I'm really amped up for season opening.  Coming off my hip replacement, my doc says no skiing until January 7th which is bumming me out, not to mention the overall nervousness of skiing on a titanium prosthesis screwed into my bones.

Monoski is retired most likely for the season, I'm thinking its just too much weight to throw around.

Despite all the nerves I'm packing the boot bag tomorrow no matter what.  Gathering my gear.  Season pass is secured and one way or another, no matter what, I'm jumping on opening day......hopefully the chute opens and I make it down in one piece!

Checked base cam, snowing already.  Forecast says there may be significant accumulation.

We are open Friday-Sunday, November 15-17!  Look for the Northwoods Gondola and Adirondack Express servicing Foxlair and Wild Air, and Bear Cub is also opening for beginners.  Mother Nature has been on our side and we are excited to begin the season with a nice weekend forecast.  Hope to see you!

Their podcast also highlighted that they were now shifting snowmaking to Sunway, Quicksilver, and Topridge.

Pretty damn good start to the season today!! Great coverage and surface on Foxlair, Upper Sunway, Wild Air, and Lower Jamboree
Can't ever remember when Gore opened on a weekday that was wasn't the day after Thanksgiving, and the choice of the new much wider Wild Air was a score

HUUUUGE SHOUTOUT TO ALL OF THE GORE EMPLOYEES FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN!!
Gotta go to know

Re: Gore Conditions

Skied Sunday 11/17.
Kudos to Gore the skiing was great for mid-November, bluebird day good snow, Gore seems to have their act together this year.  They had 2 ways down once you got below Foxlair, Wild Air was the pick of the day, they blew a lot of snow on it and at least 3/4 of the trail width was skiable. Also they widened Wild Air in some of the lower sections, especially where it hits 3B. The other way down Sunway to Quicksilver was firmer and had some ice chunks but seemed to get better as the day went on, it also had excellent cover. No rocks were seen on Quicksilver, which we often refer to as chocolate-chip run.  Foxlair got pretty skied off since it was the only way down, the ski patrol wisely stationed a person where it goes under the Gondola to alert folks,

Clearly there snow making has vastly improved. They never did get Top Ridge open but were blowing snow on it, Ruby Run and Sunway below QuickSilver. They should have a lot more open next week if the weather cooperates. Also the RFID worked seamlessly at the Gondola

Re: Gore Conditions

Skied Saturday and found it to be the best opening ever, skiing like mid January. I remember the worst opening was an 8-10 foot rocky and chocolate ribbon snaking down sunway many years ago. Can anyone explain why racing guy/kid has to zip 40 mph or more on opening day with one trail open?
