Re: Gore Conditions

Was last Friday’s opener the earliest on record?

The earliest I can remember is the weekend before Black Friday, which would be this week.

Was planning on Gore on Saturday November 23 tomorrow with Jim from AZ. Maybe run into Harvey or anyone here let me know
Anyone here think Gore weather today might not be bad because of elevation

Have fun Scotty!  Wish I could be there. Traveling in the wrong direction (south!) for work.

Say hello to Jim for me.

Great shot. Do you think there is any chance they will add terrain for tomorrow?

Not sure about tomorrow, but Chatiemac and Hawkeye both looked pretty good from the Topridge chair. I'm guessing they'll be open by Friday (they were also blowing snow on Tannery).

Nice. Been sitting out last two weekends on account of my Sciatica issues, but made a breakthrough this week thanks to a Chiropractor recommended by my neighbor and have seen a lot of improvement. So much so, I may give skiing a go next weekend.

If I regress, can't go, and Chati and Hawkeye are open for next weekend I'll be bummed!

had sciatica real bad 3 years ago. actually thought my charging downhill days were over.  gave tele a shot just to try and stay on the slopes. i never went to a chiropractor, instead went the physical therapist route. started a stretching, yoga routine. 7 days a week, 15 minutes a day made. 6-8 months later it made a world of difference. I am back to skiing , feeling better than ever.

Buy an inversion table. I will be the best money you ever spent on your back. I used to suffer from neck and sciatica pain until bought one over 18 years ago. I still use it 2-3 times a week for maintenance

I am doing PT and yoga also, but no progress until the Chiro. Will keep doing them all though as I think all three are the solution. Time will tell.

Unfortunately it took 6 -8 months to see any measurable results. Trust me , stick  with it.

Rustling through boot bag to pack up for the long weekend.  Uncovering leftover spring ski beers, decided to dust em off for opening day.

Forecast looks good for Friday and Saturday at least, well below freezing and low humidity.

Re: Gore Conditions

It has been raining hard since late afternoon, heavy rain bands have been moving through.  I'm sure the mountain is taking a beating.  Most likely substantial liquefaction occurring which will undoubtedly firm up into hard pack for Friday.

Too warm to transition to snow which would have been nice, just to cap off the mush.

Gore proved me wrong!

Great conditions.  Topridge first run, then Sunway to Quicksilver.

Great cover and snow texture. Broke up some scar tissue. New hip feels good.

Lots of man made, some scraped off already. Top Ridge is ROTD. That southern exposure helps the snow.

Also plenty of parking up top and tables available upstairs. No lines more than 1 minute.
