Opening Update: Tentatively Opening Friday 11/28

It looks like my decision was made for me.  GP pulled the plug on snow-making around noon today. It doesn't appear as though they were able to get much snow on the upper portion of the Iliad. They just don't have the firepower.

Was there yesterday for some sunday funday football --- coverage on Illiad was spectacular and I think they'll survive today's heatwave just fine. Think we'll see skiing this weekend for those interested.

That's good to hear.  I ended up at Killington over the weekend, but would like to migrate to GP in two weekends to reduce the drive.

I just looked at GP's webcam and it's ugly.  Hopefully the mounds of snow hold up.

It's gonna be good, real good. We've gotten prolly 8ish over the past 2 days (including what we received early this AM).

Think I'm gonna try out my new boards Sunday

It was very good, especially for November, thank God for rock skis, ungroomed side of Iliad was sweet, occasionally scratchy, but skied great nonetheless. Glade Runner, sorry we didn't hook up, I'll be there tomorrow. Ml242, thanks for the suggestion, dropped of my skis, boot, and bindings, ready at 9AM tomorrow. Can't wait to rip Iliad on them.

Will look for you gp peeps in the am

Soft snow made for an enjoyable morning, only Iliad open but the light crowds let you rip some gs turns one run and noodle around in the bumps on the edges the next to mix it up. Gonna need some cold and snow soon.

Due to the warmish temps I decided to continue chasing deer around instead of skiing. Sorry I missed ya G, next time tho

I think these warm temps are a blessing in a way...it looks like they have a lot of work to do to finish cleanup from their snowmaking upgrade...open ditches, mounds of dirt and rocks, drainage pipe not installed, etc.

Good point, it does look like they have some work left. I'm sure losing their Mnt Ops  Mngr has slowed things too.

Yep. No clue why I just know he's gone and not sure who has replaced him if anyone.

No big shocker there ^^^^^

Good news is we're getting snow and the guns  have cranked back up.

From what I could decipher from the webcam, it appeared as though they might have been making snow on the Stoic.  Either that, or snow was blowing from the Iliad.
