LMAO!!

It NEVER even rained a single drop until 8:50 PM, like you said the sun was out and it was a wicked nice warm day. You guys could've gotten your race in as well. They get a big WTF for that one. Aren't we a ski area???

Do you know if the parking fee is normal for spartan race venues??? Notice the parking fee went up to $30 prime parking. Prime parking meaning on site parking. The rest will be bused in from parking lots in town. That said, there does seem to be some confusion because I called the snow phone this morning and they said the parking fee was $10, so not sure what to believe. If it were me I'd have your friends pay the $30 (if that's the case) to park there.  They're even charging season pass holders that day to park. They are giving a voucher good for $10 off next years pass but that's nothing but a PITA. I think they would've kept better peace by not charging season pass holders the parking fee.

Who knows ---- it's gonna be super cold on Saturday so maybe they'll end up closing

There is a Spartan challenge race at Killington on September 16, 17. 2017 and here is the parking charges for that event:
PARKING
Let's decrease our carbon emissions. Space is available, but limited.

$10 per car. $20 per van. $50 per bus or RV. Cash only. Pay as you enter.

Same as Greek

Makes me wonder if that $$$ goes directly to spartan and not the venue. I looked at their site and every other word seemed to be "bring cash".

I don't get this whole Spartan race thing. You pay somewhere between $150 and $200 to run over obstacles in the cold?
Can't you do that for free on your own?

I'm with ya, I don't get it either.

I guess this is a big deal being it's spartan's first winter race ever being held in the states

Something we should see more of - a person with a Positive Attitude:

"Bri Payne" - Hey Greek Peak! Thank you for hosting the FIRST EVER Spartan Winter Race in the U.S.! What an honor! I was just in Connecticut, RI, & Mass. for work last week and flew home Tuesday just to drive back to NY from Knoxville, TN with 8 of my friends Thursday night. Why? To come race at Greek Peak! Yeah, parking sucks. It always does. Yes, it's expensive if you want to be onsite. Yes, it's usually a mess with tons of people. Many of these people have paid well over $100 for a few hours of fun, to come play in the snow, test their grit, & face a challenge head on. Racers also bring thousands to the near by town to stay in hotels, eat, etc. So, can't wait to drive more than 1,600 miles to experience it! Thanks GP see you soon!

Love the comment----- yea parking sucks, it always does. Oh, and yep, it';s expensive to be on site, always is. LOL

I hope they pull this off! What a massive opportunity for them. Hopefully the Virgil Country Store has a banner day as well!!!

Thought this was a nice positive gesture by Song and Lab for this coming Saturday.

Meh --  I wouldn't ski song or lab for free if I had a pass at Greek

Anyway, drove thru Greek on my way into my office this AM. Place is buzzing with peeps, looks very organized, and has more half dressed people in the parking lot than a frat house

If I wasn't working I;d be in line for first chair right now, bet you'd have the place to yourself due to everyone being all up in arms over a $10 parking fee that you get back. What a bunch of whinny bitches!

Man the high speed turns that will be had today by those who ski will be incredible.

This is a win win for everyone involved. I can't even imagine there isn't a ski hill in CNY that wouldn't want upwards of 6500 people to visit their mountain. Major props go out to all the staff at Greek Peak for making the place shine! I know you guys busted your balls is some friggin cold ass weather  You guys should be proud.

I saw in the rules, plain tread only on your footwear... no spikes or anything like that allowed. I imagine a lot of slipping, sliding and some falls.

Word around the campfire is the Spartan Race was a huge hit! GP staffed pulled it off without any issues. Major kudos

I talked with a few of the runners that were around yesterday and they all said the same thing ----- "I hope they do it again next year"

Good seeing you for a sec Gorgonzola --- hope you guys had a good weekend in the valley
