What's the deal Camp, can you just sled right over to ski ? If so, that's pretty cool !

Skied GP on Saturday and it was a gorgeous bluebird day!  The crowds were spread out nicely around the mountain for the most part making for minimal lift lines.  Chair 1 was open allowing for some fast laps on Olympian.  Oddesey was closed for race training.

I rode chair 2 for the first time this season.  Upper Atlas had some nice powder with some untouched areas along the sides.  Aesop's Glade was in great shape as well.

Chair 4 had plenty of snowmaking activity on lower Zeus and Hercules.  Lots of whales being made on those runs.

Labyrinth was in decent shape too, although you had to watch for some bare spots near the bottom.

Anyone know why chair 5 was closed for the better part of the morning and early afternoon?  I was looking forward to hitting that area since it was closed all week and there would be plenty of stashes.  BigD's pictures confirmed it.  Glad he got the goods!  I met back up with my wife and kids to finish out the day on some blues and greens.

SkiMax venturing into the woods at the top of Karyatis

KidJoneski navigating the trees alongside Stoic.
All in all it was one of my top 2 or 3 days at GP this season and miles ahead of anything last year!

I was there Saturday as well, great day to be out.  Biggest crowd I've seen this year (although I intentionally skipped the $5 day).  Luckily I wasn't on chair 5 when it went down, but I had spoken with someone who was, and they were offloaded using the backup motor to spin the lift, and he was told it was a mechanical thing.  Maintenance must've gotten right on it, it was back up early afternoon.

Greek Peak will be closed tomorrow due to impending rain. I hope we don't get too much...

In other news, Greek is hosting a Spartan Sprint race on Saturday March 5th. The race course will utilize the Odyssey and Olympian trails as well as the adventure and tubing center. Anyone planning on skiing or boarding that day will be required to pay a $10 parking fee and sign a Spartan race waiver.

I agree. We don't need to start over again this year.

Someone told me about this as well. So there taking  2 of our best trails away from skiers for people to run up and down them. Interesting.
My understanding is they're going to have "free" alternate parking in temporary lots somewhere. not sure exactly where they are but obviously they will be far away. That seems backwards to me. Make the damn Spartan racers park over there and run their asses over to the hill.

Anyway, people will bitch but the true local knows how to get around this

Nope, no free parking that day. They are even planning on using the empty lots at the end of Page Green road.

I wonder if they would close the hill the day of the Spartan race due to rain.

I saw the video Berger's posted on FB from Aesop's glade.  Several times.  Man I wish I could've been there!
