Do we get to see pics of the prom since we are giving all this good advice?

Re: JUNIOR PROM ADVICE FOR JUNIOR?

warp daddy
Be yourself
Treat your date with respect
Be good at what you ARE good at .
Do not follow the crowd , DARE to be different , do not succumb to any peer pressure at all,(ignore the douchebags who display false bravado ) they HAVE issues .
Relax,  chill out , it is supposed to be fun , NOT a performance .
Enjoy the experience , you will stretch and grow socially .

Have fun !!
Life ain't a dress rehearsal: Spread enthusiasm , avoid negative nuts.

Always solid advice from WARP!  (Hope you're feeling and doing well, my friend!).

[This thread is fun!...no offense, Harv, but this is not the first place that would come to my mind for advice on women).

Prom in this age is more about getting dressed up and playing social adult with friends rather than sex and party. The advice about paying attention to your date is correct. At that age it’s too easy for guys to spend the night with their guy friends leaving their date out. This will label them as jerks. Just be cool and remember that Prom is more about the girl than the guy, treat her as the show piece. She likely spent hours picking the right dress, getting her hair and makeup done just to look perfect for herself, her parents, her friends and for him.

So, how’s Junior getting to Prom?  Limo, party bus, mom and dad drop off?  Any pre-prom shindig, pics, etc.?  Any particular post-prom plans?  Those are the things with my kids that have always been as important/harder to plan than Prom itself.....

Have him watch Dirty Dancing and Road House back to back

Patrick Swayze has made me the man I am today
Solid advice but I’m changing it to Red Dawn and The Outsiders

Lots of good advice and hilarious advice in this thread but I think your perception of the social dynamic amongst his crew is the most accurate so far

He’s being driven by me in a large SUV unless I get stuck in traffic getting back from LI and then his mom steps in. This is just JUNIOR prom so it’s a lower budget event. It takes place in the school gym

Sooo.....I’m assuming this is mostly an entertainment/advice thread for you.  However, assuming you tried to impart some wisdom, how would Junior respond to advice from you and your ‘creepy (SUPER creepy in the case of MC) internet ski blog friends’?

1.  Listen, take to heart, express thanks.
B.  Pretend to listen, roll eyes as soon as he’s out the door.
iii.  Scream ‘stop, get away, you are so lame/weird/annoying’.

I’m kind of disappointed we didn’t hear from Marz or WP. The roach clip advice was great and all but....

This might be the best advice in the thread. Thanks to everyone for making me laugh and giving advice, might need to read a second time a skim over the funny ones.

This. Shit. Doesn’t. Matter.

There’s way more rad shit ahead. I barely remember my junior prom. In fact, I don’t remember any of it!
