Why does there need to be a line?

So I guess there lines are being drawn. I find this very troubling. This is nation dividing. This is not compromise. It will get worse. Keep waving your flag!
Friend FB post: Putnam County, where I live, is the whitest county between New York City and Albany. 92 percent of Putnam residents are white, a higher percentage of whites than in Westchester (73.8), Rockland (77.5), Orange (81.1), Ulster (87.8), Dutchess (81.6), Columbia (90.5), Greene (89.9), Rensselaer (86.9) and Albany (76.5) counties, a stretch of about 100 miles. (Data from the Census.) Sadly, then, it comes as little surprise that the top official in Putnam, County Executive MaryEllen Odell, has responded to the take-a-knee protests, which are a plea for, among other things, racial justice, by calling on Putnam residents to gather at our county seat and stand while the national anthem is played. No mention in her press release about the need for fairness or the ongoing fight for equality. But Odell did make this claim: “This isn’t about race, it’s about respect.” In the whitest county in the Hudson Valley, a government-led response to a protest that is very, very much about race “isn’t about race.” What an embarrassment. I do love where I live, but not because of MaryEllen Odell.

This stuff is all silly. I could care a less if my teams players stand with their dicks out during the Anthem as long as they score touchdowns and win games.

LARRY!
I'd be ok with that too |

Take down Ray Lewis's statue because of that?? But he can murder someone (allegedly, unproven, I wasn't there) and a statue of him is erected? S*** is messed up.
Sent from the driver's seat of my car while in motion.

Interesting. You are ok if they stand with their wankers out but not when they kneel....

Seriously. Sad state of affairs. |

Yes, because they are standing
|
But what if the players themselves stand erect......but their wankers do not?

There's a pill for that

What if they kneel with erect cocks?... there's at least some respect for the flag from their cocks. This entire issue seems completely ridiculous to me. |
When Steph and KD said they weren't going to the White House I was in agreement with them. I certainly have no interest in meeting tRump. After reading this from Charles Barkley I think his take makes more sense to me. Like ML says, the nice thing about having a brain is we all have the ability to change our minds.
http://www.abc15.com/sports/sports-blogs-local/charles-barkley-steph-curry-s-decision-not-to-go-to-white-house-is-unfortunate- "I think it's unfortunate. I think it's really unfortunate," Barkley said during an NBA TV interview Saturday. "I think that it's an honor and a privilege to go to the White House, no matter who the president is, and also I thought it would have been an opportunity for those guys to sit down and talk to the President about some of the issues and concerns they had." "If I got a chance to sit with the President -- we're all concerned about police brutality. I'm concerned about DACA," he said. "They could've negotiated a sit-down (meeting) instead of just coming in and doing that informal stuff -- he stands there and you (give him a) jersey and everything," he said. "But it's unfortunate, and it's just really sad, to be honest with you. When guys stop going to the White House when they don't like who the president is, I think that sets a bad precedent." |
Ok , opinions are like rear ends we all have one, and the Round Mound is entitled to his
Frankly i would not want to be anywhere near Trump . I neither respect him nor invest trust in him . I abhor his behavior , his lack of presidential ethos, ethics , gravitas and compassion . I abhor how he treats people . I abhor his rhetoric , i abhor the fact that he is incapable of veracity . So being true to self , i could never be a hypocrite and condone nor give him standing or tacit approval by acceeding to lower myself to his standards by meeting and genuflecting at his office ... POMPOUS You say ....perhaps , i prefer Ethical !

Honestly......whether you like or despise tRump doesn’t really matter. How often are you going to win a championship and have the opportunity to get that kind of access to the White House? We all tolerate people we don’t like all the time, how hard could it be to tolerate a couple minutes in tRump’s presence so that you could enjoy the overall experience they may never get again? Really, when these particular dotards look back it will be a decision they regret, IMHO.

I tried to look at it this way when he came to speak at the Boy Scouts National Jamboree back in July. Unfortunately, for me, the regret I experienced was that I went to listen to him instead of staying away. If I had it to do over again, I definitely would not have gone. This individual is incapable of thinking about anyone, or anything, other than himself. Everything is about him, and that will never change.

I don’t doubt that experiencing tRump was a disappointing, regretful thing. However, did you go to the Jamboree just for him? If you did I suppose you had to listen. If you didn’t go just for tRump.....I suspect next time you would go, and just not waste your time listening to him. The Jamboree has/had more to offer the participants than just tRump, I suspect.
A championship visit to the White House I’m sure is the same way, there’s more to it than the short period of glad handing to be tolerated with king dotard.
