Personal Ski Goal: New Resort Each Season

ml242
I was emailing with NYSB CEO when I confessed my goal to ski a new place each season. I'm pretty stoked that I try to do this every year, and wish other people would try new places too. Maybe they'd be into safety netting or bubble chairs, or a different view or something... who knows.

So I am trying to promote the idea. Ski a new resort this year. On my shortlist:

Maine:
Saddleback

NY:
McCauley Mountain

Quebec:
Mont Saint Anne.

How bout yous?

I have the same goal.  This year, my new mountain will be Smugglers Notch.  Some last year's are below.

15-16:  Steamboat, Tremblant

14-15:  Okemo, Stowe, West Point, Jiminy Peak

13-14:  Stratton
I've lived in New York my entire life.

I am in complete agreement with you on this one. I failed at this last year but I'm actually responsible for 3 ski careers. My older son added 3 new mountains and my younger son added 2 last year. I'm going after Magic, Greek (hoping Camp will agree to show me around) and Suicide Six this year but I feel like there are still a lot of holes in my list so maybe I'll knock off a few more.

Hoping to do my annual pilgrimage to Magic around January 20th if you're there.

Only time Stowe and Jiminy Peak have appeared on the same line, and now twice!

So many resorts out there, I'd have to move to get to them all. Maybe the most nelsaps outside of NY too.

I would love to ski Taos. Hopefully it won't be too messed up before i get there, with the development of the new peak and all that.

It gets harder and harder to do this.  Last season I skied Bristol and Tremblant for the first time.  This season it will be McCaully in Old Forge for a race.  Two seasons ago and it was West and Cannon

The only places in New England I haven't been that I want to ski is Magic, MRG, Wildcat, and Saddleback

Plenty in Quebec

Wha? that new lift looks rad! There is a shit ton of back country right from the base area you can still hike to. But seriously though, I don't think there is much that can change or dumb down the legendary Taos terrain. From what I hear it's legitimately one of the top 5 gnarliest technical steep skiing mountains in the US. Bamboo Spine.

I'm targeting Squaw Valley this winter.

Does it have to be resorts?

My goals this year, conditions permitting, include time in the ADK Backcountry.  On the short list are exploration around Wright Peak and Mount Colden.

2015/2016 season for me saw Crystal Mountain in the PNW.

2014/2015 season for me saw Tuckerman's.

Try Helmer's run  coach , its a bump run under the lift at McCauley. Got VW bug sized bumps on it when in mid season.

HAnk Kashawa former Olympian was a homie at McCauley., his dad managed Old Forge Hardware also worth a visit if you are there .
