You’ve missed the point, as usual.

In a way, Plake is (if not making) influencing the choices of all those young kids skiing around him in the pictures above.  I thought the same thing when I saw Brownski’s picture, kinda disappointing that, even if Plake doesn’t personally like to wear a helmet, he doesn’t choose to set a better example for the youth who follow him.  I didn’t say it, because I didn’t want to do the helmet debate again, but it was one of the first things I noticed.

Don't put Glen too high on a pedestal, my sources tell me he has a little Moon in him. He is human after all.

Great pic, Cornhead. Is that Glen's work?

One thing Brownski said in his piece...

"Sure enough, Plake was getting off the lift, followed by a bunch of fans, mostly middle aged guys like me."

When I told my family that Glen was going to be at the hill last weekend, my kids had no idea who he was.

Right and they don't answer to Plake, rather to their parents. It isn't Plakes job to determine what is or isn't good for someone else's kids. Plake is just being him.

Yeah, I get that.  You are right, he’s not responsible for anyone but himself.  I really don’t give two shits, which is why I didn’t bring it up.  But since somebody else did...I’ll certainly share that none of that changes my opinion, which I’m just as entitled to as Plake choosing not to protect his noggin, that it’s disappointing that someone trying to be an ambassador of the sport, at the grass roots level no less, doesn’t choose to set a more responsible example for the kids that inevitably follow him around their down home hills.

Ethan Snow
Really pretty decent day today considering the rain yesterday. Lots of death cookies around the mountain and mostly frozen granular on the snowmaking trails, but that never bothered me. Skiers right of North Face was thin, but in play, and had arguably better snow than the rest of the mountain. The run of the day was Twist to lower NF.
I'll take boilerplate ice over wet snow any day

Last year telefest was a bit lost in the Riley whirlwind.  Bring it!

Heard Telefest was excellent but not much more. Any more detailed reports?

Bluebird day and soft snow made for a great day. The woods were good but needed a soft touch to avoid snakes.

Agree with the above. Higher elevation woods were good. Ran out of snow lower down.

Telefest was awesome. I was teaching all day, so I didn't get to take pics. Yosef got one of me:

If Platty gets 12 inches on Sunday/Monday, game on.

Platte skied well today, nice and soft..
But the ankle deep red mud in the parking lot is bummer...Might be time for Laz to buy a 1000 yards of crushed stone..
