Mountain Creek: Who cares! Nobody is going there but yahoos anyway....
The day I mentioned earlier was completely flooded with NYC gapers.  I thought the bus tours might get cancelled, but they showed up completely sold out, even with extra buses running.  They didn't groom much after the snow fell, so seeing all these people who only ski once a year trying to ski 10 inches of heavy powder was quite amusing.  There were lots of skiers in jeans and sweatpants that were completely covered in snow from falling so much.
I've lived in New York my entire life.

The media loves the word Blizzard..It only has to do with visibility..
NWS has had that product for a while...Again the media loves to use the fantasy  forecast..

I thought Blizzard meant 30 mph winds for some period of time when it was snowing?

NWS isn't the media?

JTG4eva!
Hey, if we ever get to the point that M-F is to JTG as the Crick is to Loco let me know, or better yet shoot me.

That said, Mountain-Forecast has this thing pushed so far south that even Loco's beloved Crick is only showing a couple of inches.  Squat for the Dacks, Cats, Berkshires, Taconics.

Last year we saw a lot of storms stay south because of polar vortex cold air/high pressure blocking.  We don't have that same cold currently, so what's pushing this puppy south, and it that a trend we should expect again this year?
We REALLY need a proper roll eyes emoji!!

the trend this year has been for storms to take a track to our left, causing promising snow events to turn into rain events. I expected this baby to take a turn to the left and give the cats something. of course I am wrong and this storm takes a right. ugh

I'll take this storm missing me completely to the south vs it dumping on me and leaving "the mountains" dry.

Even farther south today:
