Blue Toes just chatted with her mother, who lives in SW PA, not far from Seven Springs ski area. She is reporting two feet on the ground and still snowing.

I hope it stays snow. Maybe we'll have a chance of keeping power.  It was noise this am, quieter now.

Jason told me I can't estimate totals without a ruler. The thing is where to measure?

Should be comedy to watch Chris Christie pretends he cares about NJ.

Where it looks the deepest. That's the way the ski hills do it.

Best I could do, western side of house, no claim that it is legit.

Going skiing, maybe I can get a better idea.

After skiing it and seeing some snowblower slices I don't think we have 20 inches, but it's snowing pretty hard. Blowing like a basonuvabitch.  Some of the best skiing is like an hour after the plow goes through.  I swear this one town plow is spending the whole day plowing his own street.

Down to the end of our street and into the preserve, broke trail for about a mile then came across some tracks to ski.

Met a Gore/West skier who lives on my street, pretty cool.

Fat bikes are out.

Local woods were beautiful this afternoon.  Dumping hard during the entire tour.  There is about 14" on the ground here now near the TZ bridge.

Great skiing here too. Got to be getting close to two feet.

All of a sudden I got a new, better camera I care about seems like I'm not as willing to pull it out in snowmaking, or I guess a blizzard.

This guy FTL...

"Big storm coming. Car parked at the end of the driveway, check. Wipers up, check. Windows open?"

Rang his doorbell, nobody home.

No lights. Hard to figure unless they had another car and left before the snow. No tracks, no nuthin.

What do you do? I guess you try to get as much out before it warms up. Seems like guaranteed electrical problems down the road.

Less than 100,000 without power here. Big story seems to be the flooding at the shore. High tide in about 90 mins.

I would open the doors and use the leaf blower blowing from the middle out.

So, in Southern Dutchess (Beacon, pretty much on the Putnam border) we got a grand total of...........squat.  Zip.  Zero.  Zilch.  Maybe a dusting if the wind blew the right way.

How tight was the gradient on this storm?  10 miles south in Cold Spring (Putnam Co.) they have a foot.
We REALLY need a proper roll eyes emoji!!

That's a pretty cool idea Snowballs.

Our neighborhood is residential but real old so their are some business grandfathered in. A lumberyard and bodyshop on our street.

My man Al at the body shop is a mechanic who TOTALLY hooks me up. I was talking to him as he was takin a break from snowblowing our walk.

He told me that if there is a foot of snow on the dashboard the car is probably totaled.

He also told me he measured the snow on his deck... 40 sq feet, completely flat. 32 inches.

Meanwhile down in DC today:

LOL... just opened snocountry and they have their "biggest snowfalls..." sidebar for the entire country and there is a range of 18-36" all in the MASH region... leading the country for the biggest 24-48 hour snowfalls, good stuff.

Meanwhile, I am only at 7 days for the season and I have yet to have a powder day almost 3 months into the season. Good grief.

I better be seeing some reports from down there! 2-3' is a lifetime day no matter where you ski it, assuming the pitch is steep enough!
