Top of All In yesterday. Perfect weather this spring for the flora! Wild Columbine is out in bunches. And the Indian Moccasin (Lady Slipper) is abundant too. I’ll try and get some pix along Make Believe and Upper Twisted.
Ditto... phlox is in full bloom down here - rides are a purple white blur, so cool! My pics were lame and don’t do it justice
this pic from last year just popped up on my screen saver, looks the same this year except we've had gray skies for what seems forever... you can see some of the invasive autumn olive left center. The park was overun and has removed 250 acres of the stuff (and unfortunately some sweet singletrack) over the last 2 years and is replanting native grasses and wildflowers. It's been an interesting transformation to say the least.
After six long weeks of forest closers we finally got enough rain that the FS opened em back up at 8 AM yesterday. It felt like a rope drop on Christmas morning. Monsoon season is here!
We are actually between 50-75% of normal rain for the summer. Moderately dried out soils. El Nino Modoki setting up so we should catch up late summer into fall. You guys may be in for some serious drought though
