It's unfortunate that you are condoning the classless, juvenile comments of tjf1967.

Not only did they open Empire and Lower Mac, they also opened the glades off of Empire...10th Mountain...lots of nice fluffy snow in there.

I never made it to Cloudspin on Sunday...was there earlier, but dont want to admit to too much.

I am hoping we get less rain than they call for.

Think Snow.....not Sno.

Did they blow Upper Mac when I wasn't looking?

Report shows it open after the snow today, but there wasn't anywhere near enough snow for it to be skiable on Sunday.

How's the MTN looking going into the weekend?  That snow from Wednesday still around?

Soft conditions everywhere.  Fog/mist lifting.  Some bright sun appearing.  Crowds are pretty light too.

U/L. Skyward to Weber's open and in great shape.
Sent from the driver's seat of my car while in motion.

A perfect spring skiing day!  Too bad it's in January.

As D.B. said, nice and soft just about everywhere.  Just a fun day to rip.

Anyone happen to 'get lost' or take a 'wrong turn' yesterday and end up on Cloudspin?  Anyone have any idea how it is over there?  Decent turns in the usual places, or too boney?

Cloud is fine.  Nothing great or worth getting a pass pulled though.

How's the base holding up?  Smuggs didn't blow a deep base and is really thin in spots.

Soft so far!  Low cloud deck.

Heard with the inversion that there may be sun on the summit.  Headed up the Quad now, getting warmer as we head up.  Base is holding fine.

Thanks for the 411 SJ, maybe I'll head over later when I swap skis.  Don't want to bring the new puppies into the rocks!

.........

Yes, sun is trying to burn through on the summit.  Brighter, but an interesting cloud deck.  Definitely warmer on the summit than the base.

On the Quad, top of Lower Sky, seeing some blue sky.

........

A clear summit run, then a socked in run, we'll see what this one brings!

Guns set up on Lower Sky, waiting for the cold to fire up.

Re: Whiteface Conditions

Conditions were great this past weekend, Sunday being a classic inversion day, warmer and clearer on the summit.

Summit down to Victoria Shoot was silky soft all weekend.  Victoria Shoot to base was in the clouds all weekend, and colder.  Still soft, just not as silky.  Base held up well.  Never bare spots, but some thin spots here and there in the usual places, rocks not a problem.  Things were setting up firm around 3:00 yesterday, so today won't be as good unless the temps warm up a bit.

A decent snowfall tonight into tomorrow, with snow showers later in the week.  If they see 10 to 12 inches by the weekend, which they could, the mountain will be skiing great.

Yeah, although control not that great, but it works for me.  Looking at it now, still looks like it's snowing.....

Hey everyone, I was there today. They received nearly 10 inches of snow by the time I left around 3:30.

The summit was wind swept due to the Northeast winds blowing in. Skyward was pretty scratchy. Paron's held up much better was well protected with tons of soft snow to blast through. Basically everything just lower from the Little Whiteface summit was excellent, with the trees providing great wind protection and keeping the snow in place.

Tomorrow should be one of the days of the year for anyone heading out.

Damn man...jealous...stuck in an office...compulsively checking for photos of skiing...my dad is also skiing WF today...must...stop...checking....ski conditions!....

If you see him, he posts here as well (Jon951), I believe he'll be on a pair of Volkl ONEs with Green Solly binders, Red  (faded pink) Marmot jacket, tell him I said he better be "getting some".

I'll be up this weekend...bring on the lake effect!!!!
